Does tae bo help like slim down thighs and getting abs?

All workouts do that. But yes anything kickboxing related is great for your legs as it's a leg workout and twisting motions help define the obliques.

Yeah. it Should. My Mom Lost a lot of Weight Doin Tae-Bo, but she also had a really good diet & an awesome weight trainer. Good Luck.
