9-11 bucks an hour for a server is pretty good...many make minimum wage and rely solely on tips for "real" income. 3 or 4 hundred a week in tips seems a bit low.

In Oregon, minimum wage is something around 7.50/hr, so your 9-11 is pretty good.
I wished I'd gotten 300-400/wk in tips when I worked as a server, but that was 20 years ago.
Good wages.

For a waiter or waitress to be getting $9-11/hr. is above the norm. Usually they make minimum wage or less hourly. The tips are also pretty good, especially for someone who has no experience.

In the world of servers, it's one of the few jobs that they can legally pay you below minimum wage due to your tip income. You can consider yourself lucky getting paid 2-3 times what you would normally get paid hourly for serving.

Here in CA, the wage is excellent, the tips not so much, but it depends on the hours to get those tips. You wouldn't be upper class, but you could definitely make ends meet.
