HLA DR15 is a test for a certain type of anemia. Make sure to see that hematologist as soon as possible. Also, you should talk with your doctor about the test results of the HLA DR15. Ask the doctor for more information.

HLA testing is used in histocompatibility testing for organ or other tissue transplantation. These antigens are present with certain diseases, so the test is used to support their diagnosis. Finally, HLA testing is used in paternity investigations.

The HLA antigens exist on the surface of white blood cells and on the surface of all nucleated cells in other tissues. These antigens can be detected most easily on the cell surface lymphocytes. The presence or absence of these antigens is determined by the genes on chromosome 6. There are 4 genes at this locus. Each gene controls the presence or absence of HLA A, B, C, and D. There is probably a 5th genetic locus that is closely related to D and is called DR.

Testing positive for HLA DR15 could mean that you have an autoimune disease. That is your body is reacting against itself. It is this that is causing your anemia.

A hemaotologist is a person that specializes in blood disorders. They will be able to help you combat this disease.

That is related to anemia. You will need to undergo some further testing to come to a conclusive diagnosis.
