You should seriously see a therapist. Whether its depression or PPD you still need help. It's great that you're recognizing the symptoms but your next step is doing something about it. There is no reason why you have to go through this alone. New mothers with prefectly healthy babies still experience PPD, your situation is that much more complicated, please talk to someone.

Don't get too worried with giving yourself labels, it sounds like you're going through a very stressful time so you could be feeling that way just because of everything that's going on instead of some medical reason. Go to your doctor and explain the way you're feeling, and if they do diagnose you with some kind of depression try not to worry, it doesn't mean it will last forever and there are lots of different kinds of effective treatments available.

Honey it sounds a bit like a mix.hes already five months old. So its a bit far out for ost partum to start. He has serious health problems. That in itself, can cause a parent major deppression, guilt, anxiety, short temper, marital issues, and even loss of paitence and concentration. I had post partum. and it was almost right away, within 2 weeks. and it was like Brooke shields.. Psycosis, thoughts of hurting myself. It was insane, I belive yours is from the pressure of having an ill child, and the marital stress. best health to the baby

It's hard to say. You could have post-partum depression or a reactive depression due to all this stress you're under. Both types have very similar symptoms and both are very treatable. Your depression could also be a combination of both. Good luck and I hope and pray everything turns out well for your son.

It could be PPD, but it is very difficult for even doctors to diagnose. Having kids is very stressful and can lead to acts that you would normally never consider. Talk to your doctor and consider anti-depressants, but consider carefully - they are very difficult to get off once you start taking them. Ask your doctor to give you lots of info on all of the different types and their respective side effects. Good luck!

I strongly recommend that you talk with your doctor about your concerns, and the sooner the better. The problems about the health of your young son and your concern about your marriage might be overwhelming you.

more like PTSD!!! You need to get yourself some help in one big hurry. Before you do hurt your child or yourself. You may not be able to see it now, but I can, and I am telling you, you are on the verge of being in serious trouble.
