An old home remedy for head lice is rather uncomfortable, but pretty effective. What you have to do is douse your roots in olive oil and leave it there for days. It will keep the lice from laying any more eggs on your scalp and make your head a rather unwelcome place for them to live. They only like clean heads, contrary to popular belief, because it's hard to attach their eggs to the shaft of a dirty or oily hair. My suggestion would be to invest in a shower or swim cap as well. That will keep the oil from geting all over. You need to clean everything thoroughly... bed sheets, towels you've used, vaccuum the carpets like a neurotic OCD... those little buggers can get everywhere. That's the only home remedy I can think of for you right now. I hope you have a friend or family member you can borrow a couple bucks from to buy Ridd until you get paid again... you shouldn't have to suffer.

I hope you have a good lice comb. The LiceMeister works well and you can keep it for years. Wash and tumble dry all the bedding. Throughly vacuum the carpet and sofa. Boil combs and brushes. To kill the lice on the head, saturate the hair and scalp with rubbing alcohol. Do not get it in the eyes and remember, it is flammable. Then rinse out the alcohol and shampoo. This way is much cheaper. We once spent $200 on lice killing products and they did not work. This way works.

wash her hair with mayo
as for your bed sheets, bed linen, pillow cases, towels and clothing should all be washed in water that is at least 50 degrees Celsius and dried in a hot dryer for at least 20 minutes.

Dry cleaning items or storing them in a plastic bag for two weeks is also effective.

Any lice seen on chairs, pillows or sheets are dead, sick or are the cast skins of lice. They are not infectious after being away from the body for a few hours.

Vacuuming is also recommended.

good luck!

I always heard that boiling everything (towels, sheets, etc.) a lice-infested person has been in contact with.

If I were you, I would seriously try to scrape up some money somehow and buy some sort of treatment. You don't want to go out and spread it around to other people...

I work in a nursing home, and our facility had a resident who came in with lice. We consulted the health department, and they gave us some great advice (I swear, I'm not trying to rhyme).

Olive Oil.

If you coat your hair in olive oil and put on a shower cap, if suffocates the lice, and they die.

We did it to this person twice a day every day for like 2 weeks.

You could try to use manoyise, that usually works keep it on for like an hour, and keep like a plastic back wrapped around ur hair, then rinse it off with shampoo. For the beddinng and stuff try washing it in bleach and putting it in the dwyer, the heat should kill them.

avoid head to head contact, avoid sharing any hair brushes and combs.
put oilve oil in her hair, buy a fine tooth metal comb and comb her hair out, strand by strand, for 5 days in a row.

Mayo works good... but you will have to wash your hair a million times afterwards so it wont be greasy!
