I have no idea. I've wondered the same thing myself. I attend a Baptist church, and I've learned better than to discuss other denominations with most of the parishioners. Some of them are pretty cool, though, and agree with me.

It's "Pentecostal," by the way, for future reference. *Smile*

Pew Potatoe Head, sorry to burst part of your mind controled bubble, the three additional books have been combined with the Bible it is called a "Quad" where in all four books are combined into one backing normaly with a zipper clouser for the set. Also there are triple combinations.

What you have overlooked is the Book of Abraham (known as the Pearl of Great Price) was a Joseph Smith fabrication produced from his, so called deciphering the paparus found with a Mummy. The paparus has been trasnslated by three different Egyptologists and all agreed it was a "funeary" text included with the dead when they were placed in a tomb. Some had other materials, even slaves sent with them to the next world and the paparus included instructions for that next life. Not the writtings of the for father of the Hebrew race and Christians. It's inclusion in the combination speaks to the creditabilty of his other such translations including the Book of Mormon from supposed Golden Plates. Also incudled should be the D&C.

Fortunately the "revised" edition of the KJB was never completed and bound up with these combinations. Allowing however the "Reorganised LDS Church" did at one time publish JS incomplete manuscript of that work.

As such most all Christian groups have just cause for doubting the LDS Church as being Christian, nothing more then an imitating shadow of Christianty

My dad uses the analogy of a duck... yeah, it's kinda funny, but hear me out....

If you define a duck as a waterfowl with webbed feet, wide bill, waddling gait and white plumage, that's great, but you've just eliminated many wild varieties of duck.... ones that aren't white!

That's what many Christians have done. They've narrowed down the definition of "Christian" so far as to eliminate everyone but themselves.

I say if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck, it's probably a duck...
Mormons teach and preach of Christ- that following Jesus Christ is the way to obtain salvation. They also feel that it is only right to follow His example, living a Christ-like life.

No, we don't belive in the Trinity, and that is often the line in the sand that other Christians draw. We feel that there are numerous pasages in the Bible that make it clear that Jesus and His Father were two separate beings, united in vision and mission, the Father presiding over the Son.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints teaches the following:

– God is not eternal, but was once a man on another planet
– God is married to his goddess wife and has spirit children
– Jesus is the “spirit brother” of Lucifer and all humans are their siblings
– The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are three separate gods
– The Father and the Son each have separate, physical bodies
– The book of Mormon is more accurate than the Bible
– The gospel was lost until Mormon founder Joseph Smith restored it and there is no salvation outside of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
– It is impossible to be saved by God’s grace alone

Well, the biggest of these problems that they state against the Mormon Church is that there is added text to the bible. It doesn't matter who it is claimed to have added these extra books or how it happened. It still goes against what they feel that G-d commanded, that one is not to add or subtract from what is written.

There is also the problems about the beliefs about G-d, the afterlife, and about Jesus. They do not correspond to what is written in the New Testament.

Before you call someone names I suggest you go figure out why they do not agree with Mormonism. It's not blind hate or intolerance. Their are real and concrete reasons as to why they see things the way they do.

Expand your mind- go read and research.

Because we don't believe in the concept of the Trinity. Most people on here are wrong. We do believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet, he wasn't God, or higher then Christ. Christ is our savior. He is who we look to for salvation and for remittance of sin.

We haven't added to the bible!!!!!!!! We may have another book that we call scripture, ok.. really 3 of them, but we haven't added anything to the bible, or taken anything away from the bible either. They are totally separate books!! If we had added to the bible, then the books would have been folded into the bible. They are totally separate!!!!! Besides, the scripture they use to say we shouldn't be adding things is really just about the book of Revelation!! John was saying that nothing should be added to Revelation, but yet, he continued to write things after that point.

There are so many things that people think we believe that we don't. Here are a few websites that might help to clear up a lot of questions about us. Feel free to email me with questions to. I'd be glad to answer any respectful questions.

Because we're not Christian like they are Christian. Some of them that I've heard have a hard time even accepting that some Protestant mainline churches are Christian.

The Mormons believe the teachings of Joseph Smith rather than Jesus Christ, therefore they are a cult and thus not Christian...

To be Christian they would have to believe in Jesus Christ. The real one--part of the Trinity---they don't believe that Jesus is God so not Christian.
