Thomas B I am sorry for your loss, but how can you suggest that watching a movie be a legitimate source for cold hard facts and knowledge.
also, I feel for the victims of 911 and that is why it is important that we get answers

1. Andrews AFB doesn't have a fighter wing.
2. The closest fighters are at Langley AFB in southern Virginia.
3. The fighters were not on alert. Clinton took all fighter bases off alert because the cold war was over. Alert levels used to be: Ready 5 (armed and ready to be in the air on 5 minutes notice) Ready 15 and Ready 30.

At what point did they know that plane had been hijacked? Seems to me there was quite a bit of chaos and confusion about what exactly was happening and how many flights had been infiltrated. An hour isn't too long, if you're talking about figuring out the plans behind an attack as intricate as 9/11.

Did you want fighters to just start blowing random planes out of the sky?

I recall watching TV that morning for several hours and the newscasters were frantic trying to explain what happened. So in the grand scheme of things, an hour really isn't too long.

Mass confusion is the most plausable answer, outside of some sort of conspiracy, which I seriously doubt. On 9/11 everything was fubar(ed). Every air traffic controller in the country was scrambling to find out what in the hell was going on, couple that with the fact that NORAD was in complete disarray and you've got yourself one living, breathing sh_t-storm. The conspiracy buffs will say that it was all part of a giant scheme, but I doubt it. The problem is that even though they were aware that certain planes were in fact hi-jacked, there were a large number of other planes out there that could have very well been, and you can't simply just run around shooting random passenger air crafts out of the sky, we would have ended up killing an upwards of 10,000 people behaving like that. So quite simply, we were caught with our pants around our ankles with out proverbial asses flapping in the wind.

Lemme see now, thousands of commercial flights in the air, few jets that could be scrambled out of Langley and the ones that did were sent in the wrong direction, no clear direction from the President about rules of engagement, shall i go on....

You wake up in the morning go to office and pick-up your phone there are 23 messages people calling you from all over "Are you OK, What is going on there"

Glad I was working in the World Trade Center Boston that horrible day.

I lost three close friends and 50 others in the same office, While two of my colleagues who were attending a NAFTA conference in North Tower walked out alive, one lost her husband who went in to look for her.

So please stop this nonsense of "NERO Theories" that we killed our own people.

For more details of what happened that day watch "Flight 93" and you will get all your answers.

Please answer me this also:

Why there are no Conspiracy theories for the 1993 Attack on WTC? Why there are no Conspiracy Theories for Kobhar Towers attack where 108 GIs gave their lives.

Why there are no Conspiracy Theories for Embassy attacks in Africa? 245 Dead. (Including women and children)

Was there a Conspiracy in USS Cole attack? Did US Navy blew it's own vessel? 5 Soldiers Dead?

Why there are no Conspiracy Theories or anyone asking questions on those attack?????

FBI was removed by the Clinton Administration from investigating in to the Kobhar Towers attack........

It was failure of Clinton Administration to secure our Nation and our interests which resulted in the attacks on the WTC Complex, an Pentagon on 9/11.

You should seriously rent the movie "Flight 93". This movie spends a lot of time emphasizing the flaws that our defense systmes and flight control had before 9/11. You might learn something.

"Claude S" doesn't understand. Standard operating procedures were in place. The planes were unable to scarmble and reach the target plane in time to prevent the attack. Remember, the target plane was moving fast too, and it changed course.

I think there was too much confusion going on at the time. Unfortunately, our country was never prepared for an event like this. It should've been though.

If fighter jets would of blown that plane out of the sky, you would be here today complaining about that. "Why did they blow the plane up??" im gonna guess and say this had never happened before, nobody knew how to react, we were unprepared, who the hell knows why???
