I had a similar problem with a jetta i had, one thing you might want to check is if the exhaust might be plugged. If your car still has a catilytic converter on it, they have a wire mesh screen in them than can get full of junk. Have a friend push on the gas while you have your hand by the air intake. If you can feel air coming out your intake that's more than likely your problem.

Inside of the turbocharger there are two precision bearings. One on the cold air side and the other on the exhaust side.
Eventually all turbochargers face this problem. It's called oil coking. That's a term used when something is extremely hot and sets in a thin coating of oil causing the oil to evaporate. Eventually the coked oil adheres to the exhaust side bearing causing it to stick or not spin at all. This is eventually (time) caused by the lack of pressurized lubrication when the motor is shut off while still hot after a hard long drive.
If this is your problem after the turbo housing gets new bearings I'd strongly suggest that you switch to a fully synthetic motor oil. It's heat reaction to high temperature is above regular motor oil. The flash to fire point is conservatively 25 - 35 degrees higher than regular oil.
