What engine do you have? If V6, it could be a head gasket.
Does it actually boil over hot or does jst the gauge say it's hot. Is the electric fan working?

Could be the water pump or an obstruction in the path that the water flows through.

there are several possibilities:
partially plugged radiator, upper or lower radiator hose starting to collapse, electric fan not coming on.
If your car has in excess of 100 k miles, I would suspect radiator.

Check the fins on your radiator, they may be clogged with bugs, leaves, dirt, and etc. It's worth checking and it doesn't cost anything.

the only other thing it could be is the water pump. if its not circulating the water it won't cool the engine
