I am 26 years old, drink about 4 beers on weekdays, more on weekends - (Lites) and exercise, eat right, etc. That is my only vice. All my exams at the Doctor are fine, and I am in good shape. I feel good, overall. I don't have withdrawls, dependence, etc.

Will this really effect me, as beer is only 3% alcohol content?

3% alcohol... where do you live, Oklahoma? Many beers have 6% and some ales as high as 9%. But to answer your question, you're darn right it will effect you. Usually between 4 - 8 beers and I get a whole lot wittier, much more handsome and become a great singer. If I have more than 8 and I begin to identify with old-school country music.

Seriously, as you get older, your metabolism will probably slow down and you may start to put on some weight as a result of the extra calories. For me, I had to change my philosophy some. I decided I'd rather have two good beers than a six-pack of some mass-produced swill.

Most light beers have about 4.2 percent alcohol. Generally they are only about 100 calories, give or take.

Multiply that by 28-36 beers per week though, and it will add up. Even only 4 beers a day is an added 400 calories that are really doing very little for you.

But the calories really aren't what counts. Your liver has to process all that alcohol. It will take its toll on you over time. If you continued this pattern over 20 years, you could be faced with liver disease, Cirrhosis. You qualify as a heavy drinker (4 or more drinks per day for women), so I'd recommend researching the effects of heavy drinking on the body. There are new studies linking liver cancer to heavy drinking also.

This behavior will have little effect on your health b/c the alcohol content is too small to be a problem with the amount of drinks you are consuming...Europeans drink 1-2 glasses of wine a day at 12 percent alcohol and they have no increase incidences of cirrhosis of the liver (in fact they are WAY more healthy than we are in the US). Plus b/c its lite beer there is minimal consequences to your overall calorie consumption. I would say stay closer to the 4 beers vs 8 beers and you shouldn't have any probs.

Lite beer or no, it is still alcohol. And one ounce of alcohol destroys about a million brain cells. So, over time, that begins to add up, and by the time you are in your sixties, you become a drooling idiot. Your call, but I don't drink except for special occasions and then it's only one small glass of wine.

You are 26 so your metabolism has not slowed down yet. Wait till you see the gut you have in your mid 30's. Its still hard on your liver and you will become more and more dependant. 4 a day is just too much.

You had better believe it. This qualifies as heavy drinking. It might take you 20 years of this kind of indulgence to really notice the changes, but they'll come. Trust me - you don't want to be an alcoholic. They're miserable people to live with.

Why do you feel the need to drink every day? That is a step toward addiction and alcoholism.

4 an afternoon is poor, shrink your self to a million pop of any kind an afternoon MAX. Pop is nearly 70% sugar, and the pH tiers at the instant are not in a healthful variety. in case you like to be healthful shrink the pop entirely.

After jumping off the top of the skyscraper, people on the third fall heard the guy say, "Well, so far, so good."

If you weren't concerned that the alcohol were hurting you, would you have posted here?
