You have to pay £30 each to give notice of marriage; then the ceremony is £40 If it's at the register office; also you pay £3.50 for a certificate. At least, you do in peterborough. Check out your local council's website, if that's no luck find their phone number in the yellow pages or whatever, and give them a tinkle.

Hi I just booked mine this year so can help!!!!!
First you have to register with the office, by filling out a declaration each that you want to get married and that is £30.00 per person (£60.00).
You will also have to have an idea of the date as well!
Then the month leading up to your wedding you have to pay the office the fee for the big day, which is around:
£57.00 Monday-Friday & £77.00 Saturday
Sundays I think they are closed (cant remeber!)
In our local office first wedding of the day is 10am & last is 3.30pm. Out of hour wedding cost alot more and have to be specially arranged.
Your local Registry office will be listed in the phone book.

OK,....I got married in the court house back in 1974 for $10.00 , I'm getting a divorce now from the same person, so far it has cost me $25,000 priceless ..........
