Could be an ulcer. Best remedy is salt. Just rub some on and feel the pain. It will eventually subside and will go away by the next day. Best of luck.

It will hurt for a few - but the best way to get rid of them and fast is salt ! dab a wet q-tip in salt and put it directly on the ulcer... it will sting a bit for a min. but do this several times a day and it should get rid of it in a day or two. Good Luck ! Trust me this works !!!

If you're not allergic to aspirin, crush an aspirin and sprinkle a little directly on the cold sore. It stings at first, then goes pain free, and for some reason, helps it heal much faster. If it persists or gets larger or more painfull, see your doc.

-Bonjela
-And theres this horrible stuff that feels like wallpaper paste in your mouth, but it does work if you leave it!
-Rinstead pastilles
-Tyrozets will numb the area for a while - ask your pharmacist for them.
-Antibacterial mouthwash/regular toothbrushing
-Gargle salty water
The last two sting like hell but both work. If all fails and it's still there in a week or so, consult your pharmacist or doctor.

Rinse your mouth with warm salt water. Otherwise go and get some bonjela (that stings like hell when you first apply it and then everything goes lovely and numb)
