According to the National Institute for Health

http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmicalc.htm

At 15 and female you are considered overweight at 140 lbs and 62 inches. I am more concerned as you are young. Your bmi is 25.6 as listed in the chart above from another Yahooer.

I would say that a reasonable weight for you would be between 105-130 lbs and get you in a healthy bmi range.

I know this is not what you want to hear but in general this is NOT a subjective thing and unless you are full of muscle the BMI charts work. That huge range allows for different frames.

Being overweight is a serious health epidemic and most people want to deny it or protect you from hurt feelings. Asking a family member or friend will almost always net you a "no you are not overweight". Just ask your MD if you do not believe me. Overweight kids become overweight adults.

Slim down now!
Eat less, no junk, eat many small meals T/O the day, exercise more, and drink more water! Joining a sport team in high school always helps too!

You are overweight but you're not really really fat. Your ideal weight for that height should be around 110lbs. It is good that you are asking this question now so that you can stop from gaining more weight--- some people realize they have a problem when they are 100lbs overweight and then it becomes a big problem. Right now, you are still OK but you should be conscious of gaining any more weight. Maybe try exercising at least 4 days a week 30 min a day. Avoid/limit sugar, soda, and packaged foods. Try to make breakfast the biggest meal of your day and avoid eating after 8pm at night. Don't take any diet pills or anything like that--it is all marketing fluff-- I know, I'm a marketer lol.

The doctor may tell you that you should lose some weight, but 140 lbs at 5'2" isn't too bad. However, if you are really concerend about it, you should research what the ideal weight is for your height and try to shoot for that. As long as you are happy with yourself, that's all that matters. Now if you were 170 or more, I'd say, you should diet.

I don't think you are at a healthy weight, but don't call yourself fat. If you feel comfty in your skin then great, but if not, you should try to lose weight to feel better about yourself as well as to be healthier. Also, everyone carries weight differently, so depending on how your weight if distributed, you could look just fine. Just worry about the health reasons for now since you are so young.

unless you got huge breasts and butt, then you are at least 20 pounds over weight and getting to 110 would be even better. The only way that would be muscle is if you are juicing on steriods and testostorone as someone mentioned.

well...it all depends on different things. if ur over about 13 then ur ok. it can also depend on muscle, and how big ur boobs are. yea im 5'5" and 145 pounds and i could stand to lose about 15 pounds. so u arent fat but could be alittle skinnier.

Just a little. Not trying to be mean but your BMI is 25.6. Here are the ranges...

* Underweight = <18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9
* Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater
