I bought frozen chicken from the grocery store and put it in the refrigerator to defrost. I usually cook it right away but things have come up the past few days so I am wondering how long it will stay good. Any help would be appreciated.

If you keep your refrigerator below 36 degrees, which you should, it'll last at least 5 days. If you just toss in the freezer it will last about 3 or 4 months. If you rewrap and vacuum pack it will last for up to a year.

I've been reading up on the same thing and everyone is saying to use the chicken within 1-3 days of refrigerating it. I assume it would be the same for frozen/defrosted chicken.

a few days it is fine, just dont refreeze it,, and if it is slimy feeling or smells worse than the usual dead chicken smell, throw it away
