Pre Champoin Tyson was a bull always moving forward a lot of times the opposition was scared. But, Ali loved to fight moving backwards. Only people into boxing need to answer this.

this question gets asked once a week , i'll answer again. Ali would win fighting backwards, he would get in tysons head in the weeks leading up with alot of trash talk. Ali was awesome at using his 6'3 figure, he really used his reach to his advantage. I'm not too sure Tyson would be able to reach Ali, if he did Ali would grab him. the 5'11 Tyson had most trouble with some taller fighters, Mitch Green, TnT Tucker to name a couple, and neither was as good as Ali. Ali frustrates tyson and tyson quits before 9.

Ali wins. Did you know when Tyson was at his prime, there were a few boxers that he couldn't knockout...Tilis, Green, Smith, and Tucker. Yes, a young undefeated Tyson beat them by decision but he couldn't knock out these bums. So I don't know how people can say Ali will get floored by Tyson being that Ali is ten times better than all those bum boxers that Tyson couldn't knock out put together.

SO for ALL You People Who Thinks Ali Can Go down easily, GET REAL. Ali is not a bum boxer, if other boxers can survive from getting knocked out, Ali can too. Not only will Ali survive, he will actually teach Tyson a boxing lesson. Ali, the man who fought half blind with Liston, the man who fought with a broken jaw with Norton, the man who lost to Holmes and Berbick but managed to go the distance even With Parkenson's, is the man with the most heart. Yes, Tyson has great talent but he has no heart. All he looks for is that one punch. Ali knows better. Ali wins.

I have wondered about this very question for a long time. The default answer most give would be Ali only because it's Ali, like comparing Michale Jordan to anybody. But in all honesty this fight might go to ways....I really think that if Tyson connected with a few good shots and that absolutly brutal uppercut(most devistating punch in boxing history) The fight does'nt go past 4 rounds. Rope-a-dope a la Forman? not a chance, If Ali played that game Tyson would have broken his ribs with those powerfull body punches. Forman did'nt go to the body...he just kept choping away like a lumberjack...tyson was pataint and waited for his time to strike. However if Ali is able to avoid the big hits by tyson...the '87 tyson did'nt see many fights past the 5th and 6th round and the edge goes to Ali who was a master at addapting and ajusting to win a fight. Though tyson was a supremly good conditioned athlete Ali experiance wins out. My finale prediction is Tyson knocks down Ali in late 4th and KO's in 5th.

Tyson by round 4. Funk has it right.

Tyson fought best against boxers who where light on their feet and liked to move around a lot.
Ali fought best against big, slow sluggers; but he didn't do so well against smaller, more elusive, brawlers/ pressure fighters.
Watch Ali vs Frazier. Tyson was a bigger, faster version of Frazier with knockout power in both hands.

So, here is how I see the fight going:
Rnd 1: Ali does a lot of circling and jabbing after being hit early with a glancing uppercut after trying a combo.
Rnd 2: Same strategy as before untill Tyson hits him with a jab immediatly after taking his jab, forcing him to back up to the ropes. Ali covers up while Tyson swings away, eventually hitting him in the body, forcing him to take a knee.
Rnd 3: Ali fights perfectly, avoiding big shots while throwing some of his own, being careful not to engage for too long. Tyson is hurt slightly and frustrated. Ali takes this round, hands down.
Rnd 4: Ali, now with some confidence, tries a combo.....and he gets hit, solidly this time, with the uppercut from round 1. Ali goes down. Ali gets up on 8 only to have Tyson pounce on him. The ref stops the fight.

Now I'm not saying Tyson was necessarily better than Ali; this is just a terrible match-up for Ali and a great one for Tyson.

You've really done it this time. Look at all this answers (attention) you received from people who knew nothing about boxing. Folks! Tyson is a beast inside a boxing ring. He turned real men into women. All you've got to do is checked his records and how he ended most of his fights. Ali is not as seasoned as Tyson, besides, Laila Ali only fought against her fellow female boxers. My take will be Tyson knocking the lights out of Laila Ali in 3.
And to those who picked Ali over me, never ever count me out or i'll send you to Bolivian.... Errr... Oblivion? Whateva!

I've always thought that Ali was over-rated and Tyson had remarkable knockout power but I don't know. I saw Ali take some blows from George Foreman that would have ripped most fighters' heads off and beat him only because he outsmarted Big George. I don't believe that Tyson, though, would have fought such a stupid fight and would have eventually taken Ali out. Would have been a hell of a fight though.

at the same time as Tyson grow to be known to be the bully in the hoop, his fights have been very short being that bully. It grow to be his defeat, while combatants took that faraway from em. Ali on the different hand, would not be pushed around. To many cases in his fights did he meet a bully like Tyson and that all of them suffered defeat. Ali gained the championship from between the main important bully of that element,Sonny Liston. there is to a lot hand speed and foot speed from Ali for Tyson to truly get his bone crunching hooks and uppercuts to Ali. besides, Ali fought greater constructive as he returned peddled. A fighter had greater of a gamble against Ali in the event that they have been controlled and balanced boxer , very equivalent to Ken Norton or in the process on the present time Evander Hollyfield.

Tyson would not get a single power shot in due to Ali's vicious jab. Tyson would KO'd in under 6 rounds. Tyson knocked out a bunch of chumps in his day where as Ali took down legends.

Ali would win, although Tyson would have not been an easy opponent. Tyson woulda took the first 4 or 5 rounds and Ali woulda either knocked him out around the 9th or would win by descision.

Ali would dance and jab mike senseless all the while taunting him , calling mike a little pitbull puppy, mike would get so frustrated and open himself up, then before you can count to 10, Ali would be standing over the fallen tyson with that snarl and watch mike be counted out, remember 1 boxer was very good, the other the Greatest! good question goodluck
