Yes, some teens still do. I assume it's just a habit. What's more, when do you need security more than when you're a teen?
There are some adults that do too. When I led a girl scout troop one year, the kids were taking turns sharing. One little girl (whose parents we hung out with) stood up and loudly and proudly exclaimed "My Dad sucks his thumb!" I never could look at that guy the same way again. LOL

I don't suck my thumb, but I do have a habit of putting my hands near or in my mouth when I am worried...or watching a horror movie...It is a bad habit and one that is hard to break! There is bad tasting lotion you can use to help break the habit...

i am not sure why teenagers would still suck their thumb, except that maybe they are using their thumb like people use food....for comfort?

I have never seen it, but I don't doubt that there are some that do. I bet it is just something they do to get attention.
