Why don't you sit down with your parents and ask them why they feel the need to yell all the time ~ after you record it and let them listen to themselves first. They may not be aware what they are doing this so much or how they sound to others.

Also think about the things they are getting on you about ~ are there things that you could have done as a responsible person and saved them from having to say anything to you? They might be frustrated because they have to tell you over and over again to do things so start being responsible and do things on your own to cut down on frustration on both sides of the fence. And discuss all this with you parents and make up a list of things you can do to improve the situation.

I think they will admire you for acting like an adult and trying to come up with a solution :)

Good luck to you

Are you sure you didn't do something wrong??? Maybe something against family rules or just a general no-no. Or there may have been a misunderstanding.

Look at the situation from their point of view and see if you did do something wrong.

Some parents are not good communicators. They will yell at you and don't explain or believe you know the reason.

If you don't understand why, wait for the storm to calm and ask why they had yelled at you because you did not believe that you had done something wrong.

They could be having a bad day and took it out on you. Parents can have plenty of bad days because of so many reasons that they just don't share with the kids.

Better communication helps.

When I was a teenager, my mother would yell at me for stupid things. To me, the reasons were so stupid. But her reasoning was very serious and she was upset that I didn't see it her way. The generation gap between parents and children can be a root for lots of yelling.

But no matter how much you get yelled at, parents always love their kids and you need to know that it doesn't feel good that they yelled at you. I'm sure there's quite a bit of guilt once they look back and realized that they overreacted or over-yelled.

I've got 2 sons who know I love them with my whole heart, but there are occasions when I do yell at them in an effort to educate them on the reality of life. We usually discuss things, but sometimes, when they push my buttons and get me overly frustrated, I'll yell. It's just a parent thing and every kid is different, as is every parent. Be glad they tell you they love you. And be glad they love you enough to yell at you when you make mistakes. There's lots of kids whose parents don't care enough to speak to them about anything. It'll get better as you get older and mature.

That depends on what they are yelling about. Maybe it seems unimportant to you but it's important to them.

Their job is lead you into adulthood as the best person you can be.

I bet when you become a parent you will understand why you can love a child but still yell at them because they aren't don't what they are suppose to be doing...

Parents love their children....period. BUT, it's the parents job to keep you in line. It may seem like yelling, but it's (hopefully) not. Let someone know if you are physically abused. Let's talk.

Parents always want their kids to be better than they are. That is part of parental love.

it is a bad habit - their parents probably yelled all the time and they learned it.

because they love you. If they don't, they won't care even if you are not doing so well!
