rest in nothingness

2007-07-05 09:39:09 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

I think I'd have to go for "nothingness", too, if it was a question of maintaining coherence and consciousness for eternity. Ugh. Who wants to live forever, even in an afterlife?

The only thing that would make 'eternity' bearable would be to have no concept of the passing of time.

Hey, Betsy- would you like a soap box to go with that? Sorry to burst your bubble, but some people even think that you're wrong... Good thing we live in America, where we all have the right to believe as we choose.

BTW- I personally choose eternity- as long as progress, growth, and learning is involved. Otherwise, eternity primping my halo and playing my harp would be pretty dang boring!

As long as I can continue to learn and grow, then I would choose eternity. If I'm just stagnant, with nothing to stimulate my mind, then I'd choose nothingness.

It would depend on eternity where, doing what? If you're talking heaven, lions eating straw with the sheep, etc., yeah, I could do that. Mansions don't do much for me, but a worldwide Eden, that's a different story. Horseback riding, playing with wolf cubs, tigers, polar bears, I don't think I'd get too bored.

I really don't mind the "rest in nothingness". Eternity is a hell of a long time (hell, gedit). There is not an infinite number of things you can do.

Considering eternity in Heaven is free from all disease, danger, depression or any bad or evil thing and we will rejoice and be at rest than what could be better?
Of course if you're not going to Heaven because of disbelief, in Jesus Christ, you'll be going to Hell where there is no rest, just pain, gnashing to teeth, and every evil thing and continual burning. ...whether you believe it or not.
God's word is Truth.

Hmm I suppose it depends. I doubt I have a choice either way. I make my choices based on what I believe for me, not for anyone else though.

eternity, there's alot of books I want to read, and think of how much you could accomplish, instead of having to retrain people to bring them up to speed on where we are at, all the knowledge is already there and can be built upon, and it would be possible to know so much
