I've lusted after women. Jesus says that's adultery.

I think you mean interpret instead of translate.

I was raised in an independent baptist home. Taught 4-point arminianism (the only point I didn't believe was that you could lose your salvation). Once I got older and started really paying attention to what the Bible TRULY said, I changed my beliefs to fit the Bible. It is called EXEGESIS.

Most Christians these days EISEGETE the Bible. The take their predetermined beliefs and then try to interpret the Bible to fit what they believe. And this is wrong and is why you have so many denominations continuing today that don't fit what the Bible actually says.

The Bible is translated by professionals who have studied the ancient languages in detail to become experts and scholars, not by little ole me alone.

And if I knew that I was doing something that was wrong, then logic dictates that I would quit, now wouldn't I?

Wait a minute, being on the computer answering this question during normal work hours violates the Protestant work ethic ... back to work for me.

I do not. I read the Bible and try to determine what it is saying to me. I do not think of anything I've been taught anywhere else. I can think of plenty that I do wrong on a daily basis. Sometimes I let anger get the best of me, I'm not always patient, I'm not always loving, and so on. But the Bible also reminds me that if I draw nigh to God, He will draw nigh to me.

Hmm. The translation was already done. Now, I just read it and think about it, and see how my daily existence aligns with it. I still have a few things to work on, though.
