Somewhere along the line, someone got this overweening arrogance that their religion is the one, true religion and everyone else is junk.
Atheists just want someone to say. "OK, you don't believe. Fine." and leave it at that, not condemn them to the fiery pits of hell for all eternity.

It PROBABLY will never end. People comparing, contesting, confusing, condemning, rejecting other peoples' religious beliefs and squaring them off with their own religious beliefs.
What I can say is this: RELIGION, in all its styles, forms and expressions will not shake the throne of God. The belief that one's own religious beliefs will "touch" God is futile.
RELIGION will not save. It will never make us right with God. So, no RELIGION, whatsoever, will ever sway the will of God. God is looking for RELATION. He is forever looking for people who will have a personal relationship with Him.
RELIGION is man's way of reaching out to God, and man's way is not the way. There is only one way to reach out and "touch" God, and that is through JESUS. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Isn't this the whole idea? The coming to God? Yes, I understand that people want to come to God. But religion is not the way.
AN ADVISE TO A RELIGIOUS PERSON: STOP PICKING ON ANOTHER MAN'S RELIGION. IT'S USELESS. ONE'S RELIGION IS NOT ABOVE ANOTHER'S. WHY? BOTH ARE DEFECTIVE AND GOING NOWHERE.
And I am not degrading those who observe religion, don't get me wrong. Why? I am not an advocate of any. We do not need religion. It is both non-essential and unnecessary. There is only one way to reach God, that is JESUS.

Let me ask you a question. If everyone is to interpret religion in his or her individual way, then how can there be any truth? There can be only one truth, and it is revealed in the Bible, the Word of God. If everyone is right, then there is no truth but just a world full of opinions. Yet, everyone is not right. The good news is that THE truth is revealed in the Bible. The reason Christian's are so concerned for others is that the Christian wants others to know the truth. If you had the answer to the most important question that one can ever ask, the answer to eternal life, would you not want to share it with the entire world? The question about our purpose in life can be found in God.

there is a lot of evidence that's no longer interior the Bible to back up Jesus Christ. as far as a results of fact something, The Bible is the only prophetic e book with a a hundred% song checklist, and genuine, organic technology VALIDATES The Bible at each bump into, which, is of no marvel, as a results of fact it exchange into written in the previous guy had a clue. the place do you think of purely about all those "remarkable" minds have been given the innovations to puzzle out? additionally, purely at the instant, a ballot of todays' scientists prepare that over 50% of them now say, and have self assurance that there exchange into no way for the universe to be created different than by smart layout. God created all, so there could be no situation for Jesus to pass to hell, and back, then ascend to the father, get a clue! there have been cutting-edge comments of elevating the lifeless proper here contained in u.s., one documented on the veterans medical institution in Albuquerque New Mexico, the boys' call is Manny.and he truly additionally labored there, so everybody knew him.

There is a good reason that certain religious groups try to convert others to believe the same way as they. The reason is because they care about the world. Alot of religions have bad endings for non-believers. If I believe that people go to hell when they die for not believing what I believe, I am going to try very hard to get them to believe it. It may be annoying, but there is a reason to all of it. This does not, however, make it okay for ANYONE to make fun of another's religion or persecute anyone for their beliefs in any way.

I have asked this question myself many times in many different boards and forums… finally I have come to the conclusion:
Many people do not understand what tolerance really is. They think that to be tolerant of another person’s path means that they must ACCEPT that path as RIGHT. And to be honest it would be crazy to ask everyone to believe that ONE path is RIGHT for everyone. However, the problem of tolerance is that most do not understand or just can’t GET IT that tolerance does not mean you have to accept someone else’s path as right, it just means you accept that someone else has a RIGHT to believe what he or she CHOOSES to believe, not matter how right or wrong you may view their beliefs.
The thing is, is that so many people tend to believe that TRUTH is ABSOLUTE… when in reality it is not. What may be one person’s truth may not be another person’s truth. However, just because something is true to one person and is not true to the other, it does not make either person’s truth any less TRUE to each individual.
Another thing is that when it comes to beliefs… this goes for atheist as well because the belief in no religion… is still a belief, but when it comes to beliefs, it is just that… a BELIEF, something we have come to BELIEVE in. When we believe in something it means we have come to accept it as real or true, or the most logical answer… and being that it is a belief… there does not have to be PROOF that the belief is viable, only a FEELING that it is real… And as humans once we have committed to BELIEVING… then a funny thing happens… we want OTHERS to BELIEVE just like we do, because we see it as the best way, the way that makes us feel good or right… it is the way that makes the most sense to US… and we want it to make that same sense to others!
Personally I am a firm believer in religious tolerance… meaning that we each have the right to believe as we so choose! I think it is fine to educate others on your personal religion, but it is not fine to try to FORCE your views on another person, or to shove your views or beliefs down another person’s throat! There is a difference!
I think it is sad that some people are just not mentally mature enough to realize that we each have to find our own way, our own truths. It is fine to guide and share, but it is not fine to judge and condemn another just because he or she does not BELIEVE the same as you.
I think too that it is sad that some religions TEACH that you can not accept another persons beliefs as real, but that does not mean you can not accept that the other person has a RIGHT to believe... whatever... no matter if you believe it right or wrong what they believe.

I guess you haven't been to any of these radical christian churches that talk about how you must convert people before armageddon or they will die. You haven't heard preachers say that you can't allow any scepticism and rule breaking. Many Christians are taught to spread their beliefs and that people that won't convert are going to hell. What I wouldn't give for a world full of open-minded sceptics who live the law of love! It would be a kinder gentler world. The point of religion seems to be about shepherds and sheep corraled in a pen called a church.

no the whole point of religion IS NOT that each person interprets it in his or her individual way
supposedly religion is about absolute truth.
not a new age kinda thing where everyone can have their own relative beliefs.
Why would you think that an atheist would NOT want to correct christians on their discrimination of homosexuals?
and if the bible is true, why would a christian NOT want to get atheists to see the "true way"?

If each person interprets everything differently, then it's hardly a religion and more of a guideline and nothing close to divine law.
I digress, I will admit that I am commanded by my Lord Jesus Christ to share my faith. However, He also taught that I can only scatter the seed of His Word, and to attempt to force it to grow is attempting to be God. This is blasphemy. When someone continues to ask question after question, it is a sign that they are searching for answers, which Christians are instructed to be prepared to answer them, or Christians will have to answer to God for our disobediance to Him.
Now you will see Christians and Pagans and Atheists and Muslims, and Jews, etc...loose their temper and sense when someone is blantently rude and disrespectful. This is not a religious issue, it's a human issue...we all loose our temper. No one religion has cornered the market on bad behavior, however it does seem many justify themselves by it.

There are those who would infringe on others their perspectives in an effort to coerce a fraternization. They wish to indulge their own fantasies and superstitions being caught up in an emotional hallucination. Leave people to their own beliefs. This is an impossibility for religious zealots and thus 90% of the world's misery. Religion is a worse disease than cancer.

Sure we just don't want to accept them as law!
Keep you religious beliefs in the personal sphere and you have no problem...but when you go political and try to enshrine your religious beliefs in state legislation and try to impose your religious beliefs on all of us then atheist's and secularist's are going to question this and they will oppose it.
It's not so difficult to understand is it?
