Okay I have answered tons of questions for gifts for older kids but I have a 2 1/2 year old girl and my friends boy is turning 2, his party is August 11th and I am lost. They are doing his party in shrek, but I don't know what to give him. Any ideas for under $20.00?

Anything with balls and cars are great. My 21 mos old son thinks they are the greatest things in the world.

You can get a "Tonka like" (cheaper than the brand name) dump truck or bulldozer type of truck for about $10 at Toys R Us.

Washable crayons and some coloring books, or PlayDoh, or finger paints..... I have 5 kids and have lots of friends with kids, and I've found the the coloring, painting and crafts are always a favorite! (as well as affordable!) Good luck!

Legos! They're unisex, and all children that I've ever babysat love them. Waffle blocks (though I don't know if they still exist) were a favorite when I was little.

Books. Age appropriate of course. You can never go wrong with books, and in my opinion, kids are never given enough of them! There are so many positive benefits!
