I'm a Yankee and am oddly enough very amused by this question. I actually find my region's accent really annoying. You haven't lived until you've heard your neighbor yell at her dog with a thick Boston accent; it's really just priceless. Also, I've found that my fellow New Englanders are really funny when they're drunk. I'm getting really off topic. I also think Southern accents are adorable.

The Yankee accent sounds like people talking by the corner of the mouth. I like English accent much more. It is almost musical

Everybody has an accent, even a "plain-Midwestern" accent will be different from Canadian, European, and so on. Alot of people find accents different from their own as funny sounding. Unfortunately, many people look down on accents for one reason or another. Personally, I have no time for such craziness.

yes, they are both funny.
I made an new word for Yankee in Italian. It is "ianch", for more than one male Yankees its "ianchi", for more an one female Yankee its " ianche", for one female Yankee its "iancha", for one male Yankee its "iancho".
you see, that give me any word that won't translate into Italian and I will made an new word for you that is acceptable into the Italian language.

Most of the people that I've known that came from up northeast didn't have no accents.
