Because our government is stupid. The people out there who need the help the most can't get it because of the lazy people on welfare who sap the system of the taxpayer's hard-earned money! If I was to cut my arm off right now, I couldn't afford to get it sewn back on or a prosthetic because I HAVE A JOB BUT NO HOSPITALIZATION.

Not that I'm bitter or anything...

Check with your local health department and see if there are any dentist in your area that may do probono work. Also if there is a college in your community with a dental school you may get the dental work you need with little or no out of pocket expense. Last thing if it is too bad and you need to seek help immediately, go to your local emergency room you will get a bill but you should be able to make arrangements to pay it on a monthly basis based on your income. If this person has no income they should be eligible for Medicaid through their local Department of Human Services (formally known as FIA).

You can go to the ER. They can not refuse to treat you, they may only be able to give you pain medicine and an antibiotic but it is a start. Some times they will be able to refer you to a dentist that will either take payments, medicare or just do a comp visit.

When all else fails for severe tooth ache at home. you can try a few of these remedies:
Molasis, rubbed over the gum area,
rinsing with peroxide diluted with water will help an open abscess. Ibuprofen is the best anti-inflammatory medicine for tooth aches.

I completely agree with theeworkprincess. Her views on our current health "care" system are totally accurate. That being said, if the person with the toothache is a member of a church, they should go to the church office and tell them about their situation. There are many churches that will make a check out to the doctor, dentist, electric company, etc. This is why they take collections during church services. Good luck and I hope this helps.
