Because they think that Government is the answer for all problems and not God, thats why they dont value rights.

Why secular?
You seem to be describing many people in general. A 401k will no more save you from some disasters than god will provide for your retirement. Not wearing a seatbelt because it wrinkles your Armani is no more of less reasonable than not wearing a seatbelt because god will protect you. Too many people of all religious and non-religious views have a false sense of security.
As far as believing that they know what is best for everyone, this describes religious people far more often than it describe secular people. You feel that "progressive healing" is what everyone needs. I suspect that it is not. Universal solutions universally lead to unintended consequences and what is best for you will not be best for everyone else.

Sweetie, I hate to break it to you, but the United States is a SECULAR nation.. the founding fathers made it that way to keep people of all beliefs (and non-belief) safe from tyranny.
It works when the system is allowed to perform as designed. 401ks don't save people from disaster.. they are a savings plan for retirement that allows people to pay income tax on that money at a lower rate when they go to withdraw it.
Naivete is in thinking that some supreme being is going to save one from all his/her troubles that are mostly self-inflicted. Personal responsibility is a hallmark of secularism.. it's something more people of faith should look into.

I don't think you understand what secular means...why don't you find out before mouthing off and making a fool of yourself?
A secular state is a state with no state religion and in which the state is neutral in matters of religion, neither supporting nor opposing any particular religious beliefs or practices.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secular_state
What is your objection to this? Do you live in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural multi-belief society or not?... Why should your particular belief be privileged above anyone else's belief or non-belief?

I'm plenty secular, and I don't even have a 401k.
I have several other retirement accounts, two of them tax-deferred and one of them a Roth IRA, and I do think those will save my retirement (though I won't use them in even of a disaster--that would cause me to lose large portions of my retirement funds!).
Your assumption that I pretend to know what's best for everyone and that I operate entirely out of selfishness is, well, silly.
However, I *do* insist that I know what is best when it comes to believeing in gods (I think it's best not to believe in them), but that stems from a very uncontroversial belief that it's best not to believe in things that don't exist.

I can't help but laugh at this. I find it is generally the religious cultists that are quick to judge and have decided what is THE TRUTH, and THE RIGHT way to live. So in other words, it the crazy religious cults that have decided they know what is best for everyone on the planet. Secular people know that religion is nothing but silly stylized rituals for scared children, and have choosen to ignore your bull$hit.

The short answer is: we DON'T think that WE know best for everyone.
We think that YOU know best; and we want you to trust in YOURSELF to find the right answer.
Not rely on some Invisible Sky Daddy.
Not rely on the superstitious ramblings of a bunch of Bronze Age goatherders.
Not rely on a bunch of TV preachers you can't distinguish from the game show hosts.
Just YOU, and your fellow man.
Because in the final analysis, those are the only things that are REAL.

On the opposite foot, why do RELIGIOUS people think they know what is "best" for everyone? Even thought they suffer from selfishness and the sin of pride trying to ram their sheep-like responses to a non-existent "GOD" down my and everyone else's throats?

They don't think it, and that's what antisecularists don't get...
People who support secular governments believe that people know what's best for THEMSELVES...
which is why antisecularist Christians like Tim McVeigh blow up buildings, and antisecularist Muslims blow themselves up.

Yeah, let's listen to the delusional people and their imaginary friend instead.
Do you work? Why? Isn't it selfish to take a job someone else might need? Isn't it selfish to have money? Isn't it selfish to eat when someone else can't? What? Are you telling me that you care about YOURSELF? How selfish.
