If other countries had treated POW's in the way that these people have been treated we would have been outraged by the lack of justice being served. i think of our Military all over the world and think that if other countries see how we treat the POW's in our care that maybe they will take it out on our soldiers

The reason he hasn't? Check records dating back to before the invasion of Afghanistan. Before Bush decided to invade sovereign nations (reminder: he's the ONLY standing president to EVER do this) he and his cronies pulled the United States out of the World Court, which is the governing body on war crimes trials. By withdrawing from the World Court, they can't make any verdict stick.

First off I think we should consider that the use of over blown media coverage and the way it is over rated . I also believe that when in a war and need i remind you we are at war with terrorism and the like . One must know that when your a prisoner you will be subject to harsh conditions and consider our past POW and how they were treated it was in fact these very same countries that we are now fighting against who held our boys captives and yes they mistreated them so a terrorist had to wait a little before getting released .I believe that the media has taken a few Isolated cases and blown it way up and that a lot of intelligent people have believe that well if one happen then it must be all of them which simply is not the case and now President Bush should not be on trial for war crimes he allegedly committed

Its very clear you've been listening to Libs rather than do your own research. Let me educate you on a few FACTS that you and other Libs tend to ignore.
1. The "people" at Gitmo are not POWs! They are loosely EPWs....and there is a big difference!
2. Under the rules of the Geneva Convention, we had the right to shoot the terrorists right there on the battlefield even after they were captured. Since they do not wear a uniform, nor are they in the military of any nation, nor do they represent any Govt', they are guerrillas and we had the right to execute them on sight.
3. What torture to which you refer? Putting panties on their heads? Deny sleep?

Maybe you've forgotten the U.S. troops that have been captured in Iraq? Remember them? The ones we find later, dead.
Or have you forgotten the civilians that have been beheaded....like Nik Berg, Dan Pearl, etc.
What about that young Israeli solder that has been captive for over a year? The war has been over there for sometime, why hasn't he been freed?

You should do some research before spouting off about topics in which you have no clue! Its easy to sit back and soak up all the Dem/Lib hatred and then post it here. By doing this all you've done is show how unintelligent you really are

there is not any longer something to charge him with. Sorry to those who hate him yet hate isn't something that facilitates every person out. Sorry to those who nevertheless attempt to assert that this war is against the regulation. It became voted on via the Congress and that they gave the president the capability to bypass to war. He chosen to bypass to war and as a result many defense force very own have been killed. If former president Bush have been to be charged then Senators Reid, Clinton, Dodds, Kerry, Kennedy and the others might ought to be charged besides. additionally the U.N. agreed that Sadam Hussein became liable for no longer complying with the resolutions that they handed and that they too gave the bypass forward for the war.

While I don't support Bush or if I do support Bush it is only marginal, this is complete hogwash.
When have any POWs ever been treated any better than what we treat the detainees at Guantanamo? There is the Left and there is the Right in this country....Both groups are dangerously ignorant. The rest of us fall in the middle and don't buy into B.S. from either side.
Drink some koolaid and enjoy the left side more or..... wake up and be the majority in the middle.

Right now the U.S. is involved in a shooting war with Iraqi "insurgents"; Americans captured by Iraqi's face execution, unless of course you are hearing about American military personel being captured and released as I Am Not Hearing this.

Detained Iraqi's in Guantanimo bay probably are being slapped around and a few disapearing from time to time;

If you can suggest how to go about fighting this type of war in a humane manner please advise.

I personaly think we should have left Iraq long ago as they deserve thier freedom as much as the South Vietnamese were willing to fight for thiers...

Not trying to be a jerk, just saying how it is as Nothing is good about Any of It.

In practical terms we are being overtly generous with the Iraqi prisoners ; remember, these people are happy to video tape throat slitting and put it on the internet; there is no "MIGHT" as they are Treating U.S. military in Barberic ways.

POWs are under military authority but those in Gitmo are not your normal POWs. Normally, they are in uniform and clearly are the enemy. those in Gitmo were handed to us with the claim that they were enemy combatants. The fact is that some of them were simply people in the wrong place at the wrong time as proved by the military letting them go free with no charges. Where this is the case, it means that some, even just a few, have been locked up and tortured that did absolutely nothing to deserve it.
As far as what other countries do, that is meaningless. I cannot control what others do, I can only control what I do and when others violate human rights that, in no way, condones us in doing it. American moral values used to be higher, hopefully, a change in presidency will undo the heinous acts Bush has committed.
Regarding Bush & co. facing war crimes, The world court does not prosecute seated heads of state. The matter may be dealt with in '09 though.

Actually they have been treated fairly well. The real problem is that people like you just don't know what is going on. I will give am example.
The news reported abuse of Iraqis. They showed an Iraqi that who had his hands bound together. He was in a hole in the ground. They said that that was abuse. The real story was he was put there temporally. To protect him from the terrorists who were trying to kill him. The Americans risked there lives to save this Iraqi. Yet our news reports it as abuse.
Please get off your couch and try to figure out what is really happening.

Are u kidding me? how we treat our pow's is a friggin cozy dream compared to how other countries treat ours. in vietnam, soldiers had been found stapled to a tree with their balls in their mouth. in world war 2, japanese pows would routinely beat their prisoners and one of my uncles had his tounge cut out by them. fastforward to the iraq war. our soldiers are tortured and then beheaded. now somebodys gonna say we tourure our pows, but what we do is hardly considered torture. we do-not physically harm our prisoners(i think we should, give em something to be afraid of). so how can somebody be charged with a crime if there is none comitted?

Because they are not being abused.

The worst thing reported was the desecration of the Koran. Investigations later proved that was done by a detainee, not a guard.

Wake up young child! Do you have any idea what happens to Anericans that are detained by other countries? They get beheaded in public, they have gasoline poored on them and torched in the city streets. You must be young because you are extremely naive! Quite watching CNN and CNBC because you will only get filtered news from those networks. WOW! America really is failing its youth, isn't it?
