okay first of all, my dog is tiny and i can cuddle with her and i only smell the top of her paws when she is warm.if you love your pets then you hug them or whatever, then how can you not notice the smell of them? to my whole family, her warm paws and stomach smell like fritos or salty tortilla chips. yea to you it sounds weird, but in reality, you are the weird one. :)

Just be careful about smelling your dog's paws - they're not as discriminate about what they step in as we are.

Can't say I have ever sniffed my dogs paws when she was tired so I am not sure what you are talking about.
