That alone is a testament to Christianity's illegitimacy.

Yeah, we are.

Take a good look at Israeli politics and tell me how "loving" they are. For crying out loud their are three religious political parties! Sometimes four or five when they cannot get along.

They even created a political partie for a time whose main goal was to go against the religious parties.

I dont even need to get into how Jews bicker amongst themselves in the US.

A large group can afford to be divisive, but a small group cannot because it threatens its very existence.

That is why our divisiveness borders on the insane.

Christianity is very divided. the Missionary Baptist claim the Southern Baptist are in danger of hell because of their once saved always saved doctrine and the Southern Baptist claim the missionary baptists are in danger of hell because the believe you can fall from grace.

The Pentecostal churches claim the non tongue speaking churches are dead and in danger, while the non tongue speaking churches claim tongue speaking is dangerous.

I was a member of the church of Christ and would be attacked and challenged by all these religions, but now these same people say they wish I had never left Christianity. They had nothing to do with my leaving although they did try to get me to leave, but they wanted me to believe their way..

It is very divisive and the bible condemns division.

There are not 38k denominations. You are embellishing.

Christianity always was supposed to be an individual relationship between a person and Jesus, so you could say that there are as many different types of Christianity as there are individual Christians.

I don't see why minor differences in traditions, customs, or opinions have to be divisive, unless you are easily intimidated by people who are slightly different than you.

38,000 denominations based on what? provide a link besides your hot bigoted hateful air. i'd say a relgion that sets off bombs daily around the world in about 20 countries is pretty divisive. whereas many christians are in africa and other nations feeding people and building homes for them. how divisive of those christians!

YES, there are 38,000 denominations and since anyone can got out and start their own church, Protestantism will only get to be more scandulous. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protestant; too bad....Jesus had prayed that all may be one.

what if most are wrong?
God's people are commanded to depart from Babylon. We may not participate in the false religions that surround us. God calls us out of Babylon and tells us to return to Zion: "And I heard another voice from heaven saying, 'Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities'" (Revelation 18:4,5).
