The question was about this guy wanting to enlist in the Reserves-He wanted to know if he could request being deployed right away.
I told him that he should talk to his recruiter and explained the situation with my own family. This was his reply
"And all you ill-informed family members of military people without the faintest idea, well enjoy your CNN & Strabucks breakfast blend"
I was so offened! I sent this message to him-
"I find your comment about "ill-informed family members" to be rude and thoughtless. My father was a Marine in Vietnam, my step dad re-enlisted during vietnam, my two uncles were there, too. My Husband is a 9 yr Army vet from Dessert Storm, my twin 19 yr old sons are currently Marines, my 20 yr old son is Army National Guard ( along with my 19 yr old nephew) and my 21 yr. old step son is active Army. My family has sacrificed ALOT so that both you and me can watch CNN or go to Starbucks.
I'm sorry if I couldn't answer your question-I was only trying to help.."

i totally understand how u feel! i have answered questions and been insulted before also. i think he is stupid! sounds like maybe he is running from something needing to get deployed right away. either that or he is joining for the wrong reasons. maybe he thinks he's gonna go over and be Rambo! lol! ignore his response. obviously, he is the one who could never understand the sacrifice that many families have made w/ their loved ones. i think doing what our service people do is the most honorable and brave thing that anyone can do. i am so thankful to those like your family members who risk their lives and serve our country in that way. i love starbucks too! i am very proud to be in a country where i can go purchase a cafe mocha ANY time i darn well please! thanks to you and yours for maintaining our feedom for myself and my child's future!

I easily are starting to be insults earlier once I published a image. the photos are so small besides which you relatively will no longer be able to tell what someone feels like from them! i might say to no longer hear to her. i do no longer know why some human beings experience the ought to be recommend and insulting. I actual do no longer think of they understand that they are speaking to actual human beings and hurting their emotions. i'm sorry that occurred to you. I additionally needed to characteristic something that I in simple terms theory approximately. What if someone with Downs Syndrome easily published a image and somebody suggested that? which would be much extra insulting.

I want to thank your family for the service they have and are giving to this nation. My father served in WWII and I am thankful for his service, too. Without the sacrifice of the military personnel this nation could not exist nor would we have the freedoms that they have fought and died for.
If it was me I would try to ignore him after telling him that your family and many others have fought for the freedoms that he enjoys. Including the one that allows him to be an inconsiderate jerk.

It seems as if you gave a sincere answer to an insincere question. If he can't respect your perspective, even if he doesn't agree with you, that's his problem. It scares me though that others' lives may ultimately depend upon the shoulders that support such an ignorant, narrow mind.

I hope you don't stay angry. It is not uncommon for people to be offensive when posting here. You showed your caring and people skills in your answer. He showed his ignorance in his childish verbosity, lashing out at us Military families. You set him straight with the facts of your background. If he wishes to be deployed, I hope he isn't covering my son's back.
Your family would be my choice of Battle Buddies,
Anyday!

I wouldn't worry too much. Some people join up because they want to defend. Others join up because they see it as a great excuse to fight. He seems like the later, rushing into things he probably isn't even ready for.

Well, I for one am very greatful to you and all of your family members who have dedicated their lives to our country, to protect and serve, so we can continue to be free and hopeful that our children and grandchildren will have everything that we have and more. So forget him, and thank your family for me.
