I think the thumbs-down should be given just for an answers that don't really answer the question, or that are hateful or insulting, but not just because someone disagrees. I've read many good answers that I disagree with, and give them a thumbs-up for adding to the discussion.

I never give a thumbs down because of someones religion. I only give them if I disagree with someones answer. I have given many christians a thumbs up when they give an intelligent answer.

Yes, I do think that's pretty dumb. If I disagree with a person on one of those questions, I won't rate their answer at all...unless they're rude.
There was another question like that, where a Christian wanted to know who all was a Christian in this section. Someone went through and gave thumbs-down to everyone who said they were a Christian.

I try to base the thumbs on if the person was truly trying to answer the question. If the answer was totally irrelevant or sarcastic then thumbs down. If it was an honest answer, even if I disagree, then thumbs up.

yea! i also hate when people give you a thumbs down on a certain OPINION that you give about something. i just think it's SO wrong and stupid. i mean, why would you give someone a thumbs down on their OWN opinion about something?! for example, i YOU ask me "whats your favorite color" and i answer by saying "my favorite color is pink", some dummy will give me a thumbs down because MY favorite color is pink. i just don't understand some of these people on here!

How pathetic we give people thumbs down because they are not of our religion sad.....i only give thumbs down to those who are insulting or putting false information otherwise if i disagree i ignore it.
