Earlier this week, somebody on R&S asked whether or not it was proper for a Christian to "listen to, or sing" AC/DC's "Highway to Hell"...

I was just driving home from church and a meeting with our parish organist...and "Highway to Hell" came on the radio.

Does that song freakin' ROCK, or what?

Am I wrong??

Well here are the lyrics, what is your opinion?

Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too

I'm on the highway to hell

No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me round
Hey Satan, payin' my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land

I'm on the highway to hell
(Don't stop me)

And I'm going down, all the way down
I'm on the highway to hell

No! Great song. If anyone knew what is "proper" for a Christian - I would name you first.
People tire me out when they say stuff like that. A song, movie, book - I mean come on.
I can't imagine being around people like that all day. How do you do it?

HA! I'm not a fan of AC/DC type music, but it's my guess that God doesn't care if you sing along.
Live a good life, treat others well... and sing your heart out to whatever makes you happy!

A classic. You should get the sheet music and have your organist play it on the church grand organ. I heard a guy play Stairway to Heaven on a grand church organ and it was awesome.

Personally I like the song, and it reminds me where I should not be. But as for the song itself, it rocks, and it is a good work out song. Man, I love being Catholic ;P

I liked the song when I was unsaved. Now I look at it like putting mud in your drinking water. You know it won't kill you but you still don't want to drink it. The music of the world pollutes the mind. If you keep polluting your mind soon the pollution will come out of you. It's like hearing a person cuss after a while of hearing it you will find it coming out your mouth.

I like it. Hey just because you listen to sombody sing about the way to hell doesn't mean you are going there.

I've thought about that too, and I must agree with you.

In general, AC/DC does kick major a.ss

I'm still not going to sing the words to that song, though.
