Very cute beagle pup! I will let you in on a couple of secrets about beagles though. Beagles are pack dogs which in turn makes them a little aloof, basically they dont like alot of cuddling and will ditch you for a good feed anyday (there is alway the exception though). The next thing is letting your beagle run off lead just doesnt happen, if they pick up a scent of a bunny they are outta there and coming back to you is not an option. They are escape artists, so you better have your backyard beagle proofed or your beagle will take his own walk when he feels like it. They loooove eating their own poo, sorry but if that grosses you out but its on the beagle menu. And I have yet found a dog toy that a beagle likes that lasts longer than 5 minutes, they chew!! anything and everything!!! Beagles are used for detector dogs in my country and you can adopt some lovely puppies or retired beagles from the quarantine centre. But I advise getting one from a shelter, they are difficult dogs but well worth it if you have the patience. Good luck xoxox

Well the first one IS a Beagle. If you were here in my state, I'd dog-nap the two that my neighbors have and give them to you. The poor things live in a box- a 6' x6' kennel. I've never seen them let them out over 3 times in a year. Then they do their best to run away. They do wail all night long and very loudly and we are 3 acres away. NOT a good idea unless you are VERY rural or keep the dog indoors. They are very cute. The last one is not a beagle at all, but even cuter, IMO.

I just got a puppy yesterday, a Beagle-Corgi mix. He is a very good puppy and we found the shelter that we rescued him from on petfinders.com. The shelter actually trains dogs that help people with disabilities, and the puppies that don't make the cut were put up for adoption. Beagles have been overbred recently, so I'd recommend looking for a mix.

The first one is a beagle, the second is a king charles spaniel. The breeds are very different and you should do some research on each one to determine which one is best for you then proceed with locating a breeder. There are numerous internet resources with breeder listings. Google it.

First I would check the local shelters, then petfinder.com, you might also try breed-specific rescue; do a google search for Beagle Rescue.
If none of those floats your boat, try this site:

Your second photo is of a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a totally different breed. Same parameters would apply however.

if there are so many beagles in shelters, i would have to ask my self "why" are they there. If no one wants them, then perhaps i wouldnt want one either. I personally do not care for the bark of the hounds. I prefer the little yippers, lol. If you cant find what you want in the local papers, try puppyfind or some other advertiser on the net. or trying a search for kennels in your area on the internet.

One is a beagle, the other looks like a cavalier king charles spaniel.
For a beagle, contact the National Beagle Club of America. http://clubs.akc.org/NBC/
They should be able to refer you to someone.
