I have an RCA cable with red and black ends for both ends. Is it possible to connect my VCR to my TV using those cables only? If so, how?

Yes if both your VCR and TV have the connectors. Some old model Tv's dont have them so then it wont be possible. Also, if both your TV and VCR are Stereo (2-audio channels) then you will need the 3 connector cable (yellow, black and red) to get the best sound.

If there is a "Video out" jack set up on the TV that uses RCA plugs yes. Otherwise you need to wander over to Radio shack and have them show you an RF converter.

Yes.

Connect either color to the video output of the VCR and the other end of the same color to the video input of the TV.

Connect the other color to the audio (if mono) or left channel(if stereo) output of the VCR and the other end of the same color to the audio (or left if stereo) input of theTV.

Yes, if your tv has audio and video inputs, as most do today. Look in the back for matching ones, though the colors might not match.
