No.
It would seem that unsupportable anecdotes by anti-Witnesses are themselves best described as "gossip". There is no way to know whether any participant at Yahoo Answers honestly describes himself and his circumstances. It would seem that there is every reason for an anti-Witness to portray a real or imaginary situation in a manner which reflects as badly as possible on the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Of course, Jesus never authorized such vile invective, and quite plainly condemned it.
(Matthew 7:19-23) Every tree not producing fine fruit gets cut down and thrown into the fire. ...Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens... Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.
(Matthew 5:39) Whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other also to him

Ahh.. I remember the not-so-glorious days of being a young, unattached woman in "The Truth."
What Jesus says in the bible about gossip and what happens in congregations are often two directly opposite things. Gossip runs unchecked even when elders are involved, and people shun when there's been no verbal reproof of the individuals involved. I understand the young man's frustration, he was probably just trying to get to know a young woman in an honorable way without his private life being made public.
I think congregational gossip is what happens because being so cloistered, JWs have no other outlet for their interest. They have to look inward since they're required to not venture out into the world. I guess everyone's under the microscope since their "world" is so small.
It feels good to be free. :-)

I didn't see the question you mentioned, he doesn't sound like he is old enough or mature enough to be dating. Of course, no one should talk, but if your not doing anything wrong, then there's nothing to worry about.
As a Christian, slander is taken very serious:
Proverbs 20: 19 "He that is going about as a slander is uncovering confidential talk; and with one that is enticed with is lips you must have no fellowship."
Col. 3: 9 "Do not be lying to one another. Strip off the old personality with its practices."
1 Cor. 6: 9-10 "What! Do you not know that unrighteous person will not inherit God's kingdom? Do not be misled....
...nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, NOR REVILERS, nor extortioners will inherit God's kingdom."
Reviler: To berate verbally.
You need to really think about what you are doing!

WHY?
The Bible states the answer plainly (funny how it does tha, isn't it?)
The darkness HATES the light. Sin hate being exposed. Seeing as how all cults are sin (blasphemy, heresy, lies etc...) They all hate being shown for what they are and what they do, that is why so many cults have secret, members only, rituals, codes, terms and names.

Your not really clear in what your asking. But they pull questions and answers all the time. Every time I try to use the scriptures to answer a question they refuse to post it.....

My Wife and I are baptized Jehovah's Witnesses and we were baptized in August 1996. I searched and searched for the true religion and out of all the religions I was most skeptical about Jehovah's Witnesses because I had heard so many weird things about them. But when I studied the Bible with them I found that these were all lies. People talk about Jehovah's Witnesses when they don't even know them.
But this is not surprising, they said Jesus expelled demons by the name of Beelzebub. Read about all the bad things they said about Jesus in the Bible. All the things they said about the Apostle Paul. The truth is the truth and people are not fighting against us they are actually fighting against Jehovah God.

no, young people who are dating are doing so to contemplate marriage, the chaparone is to help them stay clean before Jehovah, Gossiping in the congregation is WRONG & should not be tolarated. the fact that the young man made public statements shows that he's not a very mature person.
