I was told there is a certain age at which you don't have to attend basic training anymore. I did not buy that one bit. Any answers?

This question has nothing to do with passing or not passing basic. It has to do with is there an age limit to enlist and is there a seperate age limit for basic. Period.

Every branch of service has their own limits for age. In the Navy it is 34 (39 for Navy Reserves), and the Army is at the DoD max of 42. You have to check with the other two branches on their own age limits, but if you are over 34 you're probably only qualified for the Army if you want Active Duty.

Also everybody goes to bootcamp! There's no getting out of that one.

You must be between the ages of 17 and 41 for both active duty and the Army Reserve prior to enlisting.
All Soldiers are required to attend Basic Combat Training. It provides basic skills that all Soldiers require.

for the Army, the age limit has been raised to 42( with a possible jump to 45 coming soon) all other branches the cut off is like 28-35.

and EVERYBODY goes through basic training, regardless of age.

42 (max age to enter, this has been changing over the last few years)

No, Basic training is a requirement. It has nothing to do with age. (You must go and must pass regardless of age.)

there is no age to be exempt from basic training. Basic training is a right of passage. Every one will do one type of basic training.

You can't pass basic, you can't be in the Military.

One of the reasons to have basic is to weed out those physically and mentally unable to handle being in the Military.
