I HAVE AN AUSTRAILIAN CATTLE DOG WHO LOVES OTHER DOGS BUT EVERY DOG SHE COMES INTO CONTACT WITH ALWAYS TRIES TO BITE HER. EVEN FAMILY DOGS. DO THEY HAVE SOME SORT OF SCENT OR SOMETHING. SHE ALWAYS WALKS UP TO SMELL AND IS VERY NICE AT FIRST THEN SHE WANTS TO PLAY ABOUT 2-5 MINUTES LATER. SHE HAS BEEN BITTEN 4 TIMES AND STILL HAS NEVER EVEN TRIED TO BITE. I DONT WANT HER TO BECOME MEAN BUT I FEEL BAD THAT NO ONE WANTS TO PLAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS????

Possibly she is being rude in doggy manners and the others are trying to correct her?

The article "He Just Wants to Say HI!" explains about rude dogs and how other dogs react to them.

For some reason my dog has the same problem. When I lived at home we had a family dog and he loves other dogs, but he hates my new dog. He is like terrified of him, I have the same problem with my roommates family dog. It is weird because her family dog and my family dog used to play all the time but the both just hide in the corner at growl at my little schipperke. It is very frustrating because I can't ever take my dog over to my parent's house without keeping them in different rooms. I don't know what to do but I can empathize with you :)

Thats too bad.

most likely the other dog feels that it is dominate over her and is trying to put her in her place.

i would advise letting her calm down before approching the other dog

it is a dominance thing and you need to roll her on her back when she does this . it will break her dominance issue and you will have a nicer dog when she learns she cannot be dominant. good luck .
