I don't really like the ID bracelet idea. It will feel like jewelry to him.
How about a pocket watch? It's much more appropriate for a boy and he'll feel very grown up. You could even get his name engraved on the back of it.

Never mind what the other person said about not understanding why you give gifts to the children on YOUR wedding. Apparently, she does not understand that when there are already other kids in the family, the marriage is about much more than the bride and groom. I think it's a wonderful idea!
I posted a similar question some weeks back about a good gift for my 4 year old son. Someone suggested that instead of a bracelet (which was also my thought) I try a medallion of some sort. I ended up getting my son a silver, plain, Latin cross on an adjustable leather cord. That way, he can always wear it, now as a child, later as a boy, then as a teen. We had his initials engraved on the back.

Get him a set of engraved cufflinks. He'll have them forever. Just make sure you buy him new French cuff shirts over the years. Guys don't wear ID bracelets anymore, the 80s are over. Also, 6 year old boys are too old for teddy bears.

To be totally honest (And I hope I'm not about to break your heart), I don't think this is the best gift to give this 6-year old boy. It's tad bit girly and a tad bit too mushy. He may not appreciate this totally adorable teddy as much as a girl might. Unfortunately, I don't have better ideas for you. I'm thinking maybe a really cool toy. Little boys love Spider Man, Batman, race cars, etc. In addition to a really cool toy, you could also buy him something he could treasure. May be really nice picture frame with the two of you in it. Good luck!

I don't know about a gift...that's a tricky one for a boy. But I would suggest something else (you may already be doing this-I don't know)...when my cousin got married his wife had a daughter from her first marriage, during the ceremony they also had the daughter come up and they said some vows with her saying that while mom and step-dad were the ones getting married they also were making a commitment to her because they were all going to be a family now. It may not be a material thing but I think it would make an excellent memory for them.

Have you considered doing a family medallian ceremony? Many couples with children from previous relationships are choosing this as a way of uniting the children with the parents. You can purchase family medallians for each of the children and there is a written statement that comes with each one to be used at the wedding.

I think you might want to move away from jewelry- especially if you want them to be able to keep it...give him a bear like the others(try vermont Teddy Bears- very cute and not your "typical" bear), but use a rubber band and attach a video game or something....

Are you giving a 6 year old BOY a bracelet?????? You cannot be serious.
He's NOT a toddler, skip the prissy teddy bear, he is a BOY in grade school.
Find something more age and gender appropiate PLEASE. Cufflinks, tie weights , a watch is more appropriate choice.
If you just want to give him a gift, buy him a toy that he can enjoy, not girly jewelry on an equally gender bender teddy bear.
Good luck

I think it would be nice to get him a pocket watch. This is something that is unique, and can be passed down to future generations (we have one in our family that will go to my nephew, and he'll be the fourth generation owner of it). Have his initials inscribed on the back, or on the inside...you can put this on the teddy bear, also.
Technically, you can do the same thing with a wristwatch, if the pocket watch doesn't do it for you.

What about a really nice silver piggy bank with the wedding date and his name engraved on it. It is never too soon to start saving, and this would be a fun and memorable way to start.
