1. Any time of the year should suit you then!! You can never count on the Irish weather, either in Summer or Winter..
2. Donegal - fab scenery,
Clare/Kerry - beautiful beaches, caves, cliffs etc
West Cork - cute Irish villages, good pubs, beaches, seafood
Louth - cos that's where I live - newgrange, battle of the boyne.. loads to do, only half an hour from Dublin
3. I have never heard of personal escorts around Ireland.. there is a tour group though called Paddywagon that do small bus tours - around 10 or 12 people..
Hope that helps..

Great that you prefer chilly to hot weather since you're thinking of coming to Ireland, cos thats what u will get more of lol!
Seriously tho, best place in the whole of Ireland to visit is Ballycastle, Country Antrim. Fantastic seaside town with beautiful beach, friendly people and great base to tour Glens of Antrim. Climb Fairhead and Knocklayde and ramble through Ballycastle Forest. Take the Ferry from Ballycastle, hire a bike and visit the Bird Sanctuary at Rathlin Island. Visit Giant's Causeway, take a trip to Bushmills Distillery - followed by great food at Bushmills Inn. Visit Art galleries in Portstewart, be brave and cross the Carrick-A-Rede rope bridge at Ballintoy. Fish in lots of towns/villages. Visit Dunluce Castle and White Rocks Beach. Try calling to Cushendun and see if you can catch a glimpse of the resident goat!!!!!!! And just relax and enjoy!
Not sure bout personal escorts, but people here are so friendly that no matter where you visit people will be more than willing to help you out, and look at it this way - local people are in a better position to give you advice and information than any personal escort you will hire. Free, interesting, humourous...., need I go on? What more can you ask for???
Promise you will never find anywhere else in Ireland, or rest of the world for that matter, that will give you a lifetime of precious memories.
Guarantee if you take my advice you will have best time ever and promise you will be back again to discover more.
Good luck and enjoy your trip xx

Judging by your preferences, I'd say stay in the west, and go to www.local.ie for the sports you like.
There is a lot of art in Limerick city, by the way, so Clare and Limerick is not a bad place to base yourself, as there's a lot of horse-riding available too (including trekking) and Limerick is quite small so it's easy to get out.
Don't know about personal escorts, to be honest. You could try the Irish tourist board.
As for the weather, well, it's about 17 degrees Celsius outside now, and it's July ....

if you prefer chilly that's pretty much all you'll get in ireland. it doesnt get hot very often. You haven't said whether northern or southern island and if you stay a week you can't see the whole country. if you can give some specifics i can recommend a few sites.
