Hands down, it's Larry Holmes. As big as an Ali guy as I was/ am .....I have to give credit where its due. Larry Holmes had the best jab I have ever seen. I've seen tons of wannabe's, and, imitators---but the proof is in the pudding. Look at tapes, check the transcripts. The guy often landed as many jabs in a 15 rounder than many fighters land punches in an entire fight. I'm not talking about a push jab. I'm talking about really snapping the jab out there. Pitter, patter, pitter, patter, fip, fip, fip, pop, pop, pop. It was a thing of beauty--a real work of art. He painted his jab on a many men.

Ali had the fastest jab. Liston had the most powerful jab. Larry Holmes' left jab was both fast and stiff so I'd say Holmes' jab was the best.

Theres alot of guys with good jabs. In history it'd be hard to say, Muhammad Ali's was fast and accurate, good at judging distance, scoring, and stopping fights due to cuts and bruises.
Larry Holmes' was also good quick and strong, but as far as strength goes id go with Sonny Liston. His jab was stronger than Holmes.
Thomas Hearns had a good jab too, moslty because of his huge height advantage over 95% of his oppenents.
Right now Jermain Taylor has a good jab, he gets it out there quick and usually throws 2 or 3 at a time. Thats good at keeping your oppenent at bay. Winky Wright also has a good, accurate jab.

In the 27 years I've been following boxing a primeThomas Hearns had an outstanding jab, quick and powerful. Because he was so tall and had long arms it was very effective in setting up his thunderous right hand.

All the popular answers have been taken so I`ll just say I thought Buster Douglas and Lewis had a damn good jab. As far as current crop goes I might have to give it to Wladimer Klitschko.

joe loius hands down. While all these other guys ali liston holmes had good jabs when they used them, loius was the only fighter who could use jabs to win an entire fight.
Or 'straight lefts' as they called them back then.
And whoever said tyson should get their eyes checked....
