ok well seeing as the wall in Germany was solely in Germany keeping out fellow Germans then id say there is no comparison. we are building it to keep out non US citizens not keep out other US citizens. besides that just for the record i live in germany right now and after the wall went down conditions in west germany deteriorated. now there are muslims hanging around commiting crimes and grafitti all over the place. you didnt have that in west germany before the wall came down also things in east germy really havent improved much since the wall came down either. sorry i know i wont get picked cause this isnt the answer you wanted but facts are facts

A wall will do alot. there are places along the border where there is nothing to prevent a person from walking from one country to another. Border agents do the best they can and then some. They must do one of the hardest jobs I can imagine. Face incredible danger and temptation every day, while viewing what Mexico's indifference has done to it's poorer people.
As American Citizens, we must defend our borders at all costs. Mexico might consider us incivil. We should stop any non-profit organization who would aid these criminals.
As a decendant of several VETS of almost every war in American history, I feel obligated to pursue all forms of American governments until each one admits these people as criminals and enforces the simple laws we now have in place.
My ancestors did not fight to preserve our freedom and way of life, to merely allow it to be stolen is such a simple yet demanding way. How can we trust the government to uphold any changes, when it cannot deal with the law we have now? Who will be held accountable if a law, old or new, is not protected by citizens and politicans?
We are not headed for disaster, we have stumbled upon it in the middle of the night, fallen and we are trying to get back up. The way we deal with this will be seen in generations to come, for good or ill.

your government will do nothing to stop the invaders, there is already a agreement signed by canada ,the usa, and mexico. creating ,the north american free trade area.NAFTA its a done deal in 2010 we do away with all borders.it is modeled after the european union, and will eventually include all of centural america too. think not .use your computer find out what nafta really is. and dont look for no fences to be built
since there will be no borders. and as far as the POLITICALLY CORRECT TERMS used to describe the INVADERS streaming across our border, first it was illegal aliens, then illegal immigrant, then undocumented worker, how sweet no mention of illegal.lets get to the facts of what they are. look in websters dictionary to see what you would call someone that comes into your country by millions with the intent to take a portion of it over,by overwhelming the area with their population. you will find the dictionary calls them INVADERS. wake up america.

Not long at all -- we want armed guards on the border and we want them to shoot on sight. People crossing the border illegally is no different than bringing in tanks and guns and taking over the country. The Hispanics have fostered the separation by their demand for Spanish language and their refusal to assimilate into U.S. society. You asked for it. You got it and it ain't Toyota. Don't complain because U.S. Citizens are sick of having to pay for lawbreakers and their children and we're sick of having to endure strict enforcement of laws while illegals get off scot-free at our expense! Bring on the Armed Guards! Shoot to kill. If illegals are faced with true danger and true threat of death instead of these perceived threats and these dangers caused by their own bad choices, maybe the illegal immigrant issue will solve itself. Ensure that no child of an illegal immigrant can be a citizen of the USA regardless of the fact that he/she was born here. That, too, will stop the invasion.

We need a wall, but more importantly we need to stop supporting illegals. Don't give them a reason to come here in the first place. I personally would be happy to pay more for produce as long as it was supporting America and Americans, not illegals.

Eliminating all the "perks" of being here illegally would slow them down. Deny access to jobs, health care, education, housing, food stamps, vehicle purchase unless citizenship or legal status is PROVEN. Establish harsh penalties for being caught here illegally. Add all illegals caught to DNA date base before deportation. Repeal anchor baby laws.
Establish harsh penalties for those who harbor or hire illegal aliens. Not a slap on the wrist.
I think the border needs secured with a well-lit, patrolled, tangible fence, not a virtual fence, in interests of national security as well as controlling the flow of people into our country.
But to stop them, remove the incentives.

The difference here is that the wall is not between two halves of one country. It is between two separate countries. And I honestly think it will slow them down. Something has to, at this point!

By the way, I am 100% in favor of legal immigration.

I agree with all you have said but one thing you have failed to even come close to being right about, 12 million illegal immigrants will not be deported, it is a damn fact (no offense). So now what? People can't seem to accept that.
