Just heat in a pan on the stove. It really works... but be careful though, sugar burns easily so you have to keep on stirring and watching carefully. As soon as the sugar starts turning brown, switch off the heat. Hope it helps! (I've done this a million times, so don't hesitate in trying it out)

take brown sugar and cinnamon and add a bit of butter. stir all together without heating. If you want it thinner heat it in a microwave. If you want it to be like candy then boil it to the soft candy stage(you need a candy thermometer) or a lot of skill to get it exact. If just for dipping then warm and serve. It is yummy to make cinnamon buns with too. Also if you want it more sticky add honey to a ration corresponding to the brown sugar.

If you just want a glaze, I'd suggest mixing powdered sugar and cinnamon together, and wetting it all w/ a little water or milk, stirring well. Then drizzle on your pretzels.

I dont' think you want to boil granulated sugar to make a glaze... it will either be too sticky or too hard!

i mix 1 cup sugar to 1/2 cup of water and heat while i stir like crazy...soon the water will boil off and you will have pure melted sugar...this is dangerously hot, so be extremely careful...add some cinnamon oil for a fantastic kick!

Melting sugar makes it crystallize so you will have to move FAST - when I do this with walnuts they stick together HARD and I have to break them apart with a hit. I put the sugar (granulated) in a skillet (non stick) bring to melting stage add walnuts (pretzels) and quickly stir pour onto buttered cookie sheet to cool. Good luck!

just mix water with the sugar and bring to a boil, reduce heat and let it reduce to a syrup. Or just buy karo syrup. Home made is 1 c sugar 1 c water.
