my dog refuses to drink out of her own water bowl. the only things she will drink out of is the toilet. ive tried to use the little clingy things that turn the water blue hoping it would make the water taste disgusting to herr but she doesnt seem to care. does anybody know a way to get her to stop?

close the lid or shut the bathroom door. Those clingy things are toxic to dogs.. do not use them!!!

She probably prefers the toilet water because its "freshened" every time someone flushes. Try freshening her own water several times a day.. add some ice. I wouldnt want to drink some old water thats been sitting in a cup in the heat all day.. Id dump it out and put in some fresh water and ice. Try a different type of bowl.. some materials keep the water cooler than others.

Don't use the clingy things. She'll drink it anyway and they're usually toxic. You've got to keep the lid down. There are bacteria and cleaning chemicals in there that can hurt her. Dogs are drawn to the toilet because it's naturally cooler, "running" water. It's instinctive for them, because in the wild, animals that drink stagnant water get sick. So it's important to try and make her water bowl mimick the things she's looking for. Cool, fresh, clean water. Change it often. use filtered water, use a porcelain bowl. Good luck!

Close the bathroom door and the lid. If she wants water bad enough, she will start drinking from the bowl. DO NOT let her drink water with that chemical in the toilet bowl! It's dangerous and could harm her. You should never do that; just force her to drink elsewhere.

What I do is just put the lid down. Most dogs can't lift the lid, so that shoud stop that. Then as far as drinking goes, by default... the dog will drink out its water bowl.

Well the little clingy things will make her sick. Or even kill her. I would say just keep the lid shut or the door closed. Then she will have to drink from her bowl. Good luck!

Try leaving the lid down where she can't get to the toilet water. Pretty easy deterrant if you think about it. Also keep her water fresh (change it at least twice a day). Part of what dogs like about toilet water is that it's flushed so it's 'fresh' so far as they are concerned since they aren't as discerning about germs and stuff as people are.

Close the lid and shut the bathroom door. Leave a bowl of fresh water out and I guarantee if she gets thirsty enough she will drink it!
