Well, its overpriced, enormous, and pointless. It really doesnt bring anything to the GAMING world. Yeah, its got all that fancy shmancy stuff, but it has nothing to do with gaming. So what if it can browse websites, my 300 dollar PC can do that too. So what if the online service is free, it sucks. Im not going to buy a 600 dollar GAMING system so I can watch 37 hours of High Definition Mrs. Doubtfire special features. Sony has made just another computer, with controllers, (and by the way, PC's have the most superior graphics, and can be upgraded, PS3's cant). With the PS3, you arent buying a game system, you are spending a ton of money for useless crap. I dont have an HDTV, and I dont got the 1000 dollars to throw down to get one. Blu-Ray shmu-ray, ill save my money. Xbox 360 brings the house down with its unmatched GAMING experience. Halo 3 anyone? You keep that title in mind, cause its gonna break records you didnt even know existed. 4 million copies already pre-sold. Watch out Sony. I think they just need another round in the next-gen battle, cause they lost out in trying to do too much with something, cause its useless, I want to play awesome games, not do something I have already been doing for 15 years, and thats surfing the web, and watching movies.

First of All the Ps3's controller is awesome because its going to have rumble because sony case with the other company got an agreement. in 6 months u will see the sixaxis with rumble and still have motion sensing capabilty.

The Ps3 does not overheat as much as the xbox 360

Online is free and is very good and is giving things like Home(Like sims but better)

100 percent comaptible with ps2 and ps1 games so it has bigger library than the 360 and xbox.

Well, the price is a little high, but it's still worth it if you can afford it. The controller reach makes no difference as you can just unplug it from the cgarging cord and play wirelessly. The cord from the controller to the PS3 charges your controller if it's on and plugged up.

Granted the games aren't any better than Xbox 360 right now, but in 2008 it will be insane. Plus with free live play, Blue Ray player, web browser, etc I can't thing of a single con.

Honestly, the only thing I'm not too crazy about is the lack of games at the moment, but that's about to change since SONY announced that 145 new titles are being released between now and March 2008. That's an average of 20 new games per month.

Other than the lack of games, there are NO "CONS" in my opinion. It's one HighTech and RELIABLE piece of hardware. Much, MUCH better than ANY other console out there.

1. It oveheats in closed areas (like most sytems)

EDIT: ppl with controller reach problems..... Its wireless ! The charge cord is short but you rarely charge it. its costs 10 dollar s to get a 10 foot cable for chargeing if ypou have a problem

If you're comparing the PS3 to the other systems, there are a few major cons you should take into consideration. PS3 online sucks, many complain about the price of the Xbox Live Service but for 60 bucks a year you get something really high quality compared to almost no playability with online service on the other two systems. No selection of even halfway decent games because developers are finding it extremely expensive to develop on the system and many are turning to the Wii to develop cheaper games. And (the biggest turn off for me anyway) its a good $200 dollars more than the next most expensive system, burning a nice hole in your pocket before you even get to think about buying extra controllers or a few games.

Online play is not the best ever but it is free
and no achievement points until September with Home coming out but should be cool.

I just bought mine a few weeks ago, and I have to tell you that it is a really hot device. Don't listen to the ones that couldn't wait for a real console to be released so they bought an XBOX, or the ones that can't play real games, don't want high-def so they bought a WII.

i have one and i have to admit, i thought it was going 2 having many flaw but now to think of it, there isnt many. but one thing i hate obut the ps3 is the fact that the games are more pricy thatn ps2's and the quality of these game that are coming out arent that great.but i think if u give these companies time,more great games would come out
