It is not expected, however a dollar or two is good gesture if you frequent the place and would like to show them your gratitude for preparing the food on time.

i think of it relies upon as some distance because of the fact the tipping concern is going. i'm a server and each so often if there's a to-bypass order, we ought to take time far off from our tables to prepare it and preserve you, so we are doubtlessly dropping income case you do no longer tip. maximum servers make decrease than $3 an hour, so our livelihood relies upon on the generosity of complete strangers. if so, specific you ought to tip, even no count if it fairly is in ordinary terms some greenbacks. no count if it fairly is a number of/hostess, they are getting often a minimum of $6-$7 an hourso if so it is your call. so some distance as this loopy female you dealt with, you definetly ought to communicate together with her supervisor and/or the shop proprietor. If the administrative does no longer something, then bypass to his extra advantageous. there is not any reason to ever communicate with a shopper like that. I easily have been serving for over 13 years and each company I easily have ever had might have fired me on the spot and rightly so. in case you communicate with the owners and that they do no longer something, report them to the BBB (in the event that they seem to be a member).

No your not required too.. but I usually do if the person who took the order did a great job with all of my special requests (i.e. no butter, sauce on the side, etc.) I also generally do tip a little less on pick up orders than I would if I was sitting in the restaurant..

Everyone wants tips these days. Other than the usual tip courtesy of restaurants my rule of thumb is if it makes a difference in how you are treated in some manner the next time you come in than it serves no purpose other than lining someone elses pocket.

I usually don't give a tip if all they do is bring the food two steps from the kitchen.

I don't see why you would.....the person you brings your food out usually would not be the one to prepare the food anyways.

It depends. If it's a restaurant that doesn't usually do carry out or a waitperson goes out of their way for me, I do leave 'em a couple of bucks.
