No i dont believe in god, it has evolved from many old religions and was & still is, believed by people, who claim that they know what made the entire universe, amazing! In older times, the religious leaders controlled the masses by making them believe that they were more special than everyone else & could literally see to it that you lived or died. These leaders literally put the 'fear of god' up you!! 'God' evolved from ancient 'gods'! ... Also interesting to note, that there is alot of evidence to show that the jewish/christian/muslim god, at one time had a female companion god, this is never mentioned by the religious though is it? .... wonder why?

You will last about 7 decades or more (live until your about 70), Christianity has lasted for thousands of years and it will continue, 'With' greater thinkers then you. Why should you associate belief with 'being backwards' - and so belittle God? Why not just respect religion even if you don't believe it?
Tut tut tut..

I did not accept God untill I was 53... I can tell you with absolute assurance that God The Creator is very real... I also am certain that there is nothing contradictory about also studying and useing all of the science that God uses to maintain the functions of His Creation... unfortunatly mankind is still on the extream fringes of the fronter of the knowledge that God has put here for us to learn.... If mankind knew even a small % of that knowledge all of mankind would be living in peace and plenty as God intended.

I grew up a little younger than you. I think I first questioned the existance of God seriously, at around the age of 12, which really pissed my dad off as he was a Sunday School teacher. The more I have aged (I am now 32) the more I realise that religion (whatever religion that might be) is just a bunch of humans worshipping false idols.

Glad you came to your senses! Now you can get on with your life and enjoy it, and base your life on the best work of fiction of all time!

Yes I believe in God.
Look around you! Look at the stars, and at the full moon, and sunsets, and the Ocean. How can you look at all of that and say that there is no God?

You're only 17...you still have a LONG way to go.

I did, and I grew up too (I'm 24).

And then I still do believe in him.

I don't accept my faith blindly and I think critically about all the issues in my life, including religion.

I'm hardly a "backwards" person, but yes I believe in God.

You tell me whay you mean by God and I'll tell you whether I believe in it.
(Not a cop out! There are all sorts of 'definitions', from the blood thirsty God of the old testament, through Allah, To Brahm and finally the Unknowable. Tell me what you mean by God).

Yes. When your heart is touched by love you know there is a God. When you see the intricacies in nature, the structure of the human body, the compassion in some peoples' hearts, you know there is a God.
