The best thing to do in this case is go talk to a recruiter. They will give you all of the information that you need. Just know that you will be paying child support for the kids. That is based on your rank. Also, keep in mind, if you have custody of any of the children, you will have to give custody up while you are in training. (Army anyway, I am not sure about the other branches) Good luck, I have been in for just over three years, and I joined with dependents.

In the Navy he will not be eligible for enlistment being single with three dependents unless he joins the Reserves. We can't even request a waiver for him to go on Active Duty.

Yup. He has a chance.
But, knowing what junior enlisteds make, he'll have a tough time making those child care payments. And, the various girl friends will have an easy time nailing him to the wall for their respective slices of his pay. The military frowns on people who don't take care of their personal commitments.

Sure but child support will eat his check up. If you were a boyscout or get some college credits , try aiming to be a E-3 or E-4 when you get in so you can make a little more money.

Gawd, what a scumbag he must be.
I don't think the military is going to provide medical, food, etc., for his bastard children, if thats what you have in mind.
He should get a vasectomy right away.

single parents may not join the military. if he has any kind of custody at all or pays child support, he is considered a single parent and cannot enlist.
If he were married, a spouse plus three kids is too many dependents and can't enlist.
