I'm supposed to be leaving for boot camp in August. But I have a real problem with heat. I was wondering if anyone who had gone through at around this time could tell me if it gets very hot and what the general climate was like? I live in NM so it gets in the upper 90s and 100s here. Did it ever get that hot while you were out exercising? And would it make any difference if i left in September?

San Diego has what is considered a tropical climate... so you'll get the heat, and you'll get humidity... It's right on the ocean... both MCRD and Pendleton... so you'll also get some morning fog.. but it burns off to pretty hot sunshine.

If you wait until September, it won't be all that different from August... really... the climate in San Diego is known for very little overall change throughout the year... it cools down some in winter... and warms up again in Spring... So one month isn't going to make that much difference.

K here is the Deal At Camp pendleton is is going to be really hard for u living in NM and going to boot camp there the biggest killer there especially for some one who isnt used to it is the extreme himidity especially since ur going in august but dont freak out the drilll instructors will sometimes let u cool off for 5 minutes but once u get used to the humidity u will be fine believe me u get in shape quick when u go to pendleton

the climate is not gonna be a problem its the hiking with all the gear and the flak vest that makes you sweat like you never have sweat..if you make it to Camp Pendleton then youll be ok because the 1st month is where you will find out if you can handle it...contact me and i will tell you how to train for these fun events...failure to prepare is preparing to fail

Camp Pendleton has a very mild climate. You'll be okay.
