A few years ago I went to St. Lucia to visit a friend down there who was teaching. He is a strict vegetarian. I am used to a heavy meat diet. My family is Italian/Sicilian/German. For a week straight the closest thing I had to meat was tuna fish. It was a huge issue for me to have fish in the house. By the time I left I had dropped five pounds and was trying to figure out how to capture one of the million chicken running around the island and fry it. As soon as I got to Atlanta Airport I was running to the food stands to get a hamburger. So to answer your question: One week before I went crazy was stalking St. Lucian chickens

Hey,if you get a craving for meat...go to the store and look for Gardenburger BBQ Veggie Riblets, you'll love them! If you buy Amy's Kithcen products, they'll help out too, they are all vegetarian and organic, they're not meant to mock meat, but they have vegetarian versions of enchilandas, burritoes, soups, stir fry's,etc.
i haven't tried alot of Morningstar products, because alot of them have eggs and milk, but someone told me that if you deep fry their corn dogs you'd never know they were fake!
I'm not sure how long you'll last,if you get those Veggie BBQ riblets I'd say at least 2 weeks.

If I didn't need to Cook for someone other than myself, did not drive past any KFC's or our local steak house, I could go a week or two. I'm not that knowledgeable on what you could or could not eat. Is fish and eggs also a no-no? And cheese ?

a week before the boredom and craving set in. There are plenty of satisfying non-meat foods. I just don't like to limit myself. Now if it was vegan diet, oh maybe one day. It's too much to go without cheese and eggs and meat.

I've tried it before the last time I fight with my girlfriend. I swore out of meat until she said "I love you" to me.

It lasts about a month. I ate a big slab of steak the next day after she said she loves me.

It's killing me and I swear never to swear the same thing. Ever ever again... (unless we fight again...) :D

I don't think I'd last a day. I need my beef. I love a nice, thick steak. I applaude you for trying...and also to all Vegetarians out there....i sure couldn't do it.

Good luck!!!!!
