It's perfectly normal. My daughter is 12 now and that's about the age I began talking to her about periods and puberty and all that. We went to the doctor for a discussion as well. She started with the pubic and armpit hair about 9. The following year it was breast and the following year it was craps for months and then she started her period.
It is all very normal, just keep the lines of communication open and try not to freak out. That will only upset her. You want her to be relaxed and comfortable with all the changes that are happening to her. That being said, although I had been talking with my daughter for years, in the spring, a couple years ago, I let her go on the sex-ed field trip to "Health World" and she came back a nervous wreck. She cried for days. I couldn't console her, no one could. What helped was that her friend started her period and asked her for help. After that she's been very open and comfortable and it has been pretty drama free.
Best of luck and remember to remain calm.

Must be like baby hair. Anyway, within the normal development. This is the beggining of proper hygiene steps, teach her how to use deodorant and keep herself clean. You can start talking about menstruation and instruct her with the changes she'll be having, everything is normal and it's important to have the knowledge before it comes.
Don't worry mom, your Angel is turning into a Princess!

Why are you worried? It's hair..she may be a little young, but girls are hitting puberty younger and younger. A 9 yr old with underarm hair isn't really casue for concern.

Absolutely normal! :) Don't worry. But if you're concerned, talk to your doctor about all the changes you can expect during puberty and what's the best way to talk to your daughter about these changes.
Good Luck!
