He is in fact a living legend. He is racing against the best groupd of Drivers NASCAR has ever seen in a time when the cars as close to even as you can get. He is closing in on 80 wins real fast and has four Championships.

Even though he does not have 7 Championships like Dale Sr. and Petty there is a very strong arguement to place his name beside theirs.

First of all... I'm not convinced he's going to win the championship quite yet. Homestead is a long way off and when the chase starts, it's a whole new ballgame. Living Legend??? Not yet. He's not in the same league with Petty, Pearson, Allison, Yarborough or Earnhardt Sr at this point in his career. Some time in the future??? Probably.

I think that time will tell and most people will/should agree that Jeff Gordon should be ranked in the top 3 all time NASCAR drivers. Those that disagree will never agree...

mlblue1960 - You have got to be KIDDING...LMAO!!!!!!

Trials and Tribulations make a living legend. Thats the biggest load of shite I've ever heard....Thanks for the laugh though...lol

Living legend is a stretch.
He may be a racing legend but not a living legend,
In fact when he retires he will be the racing legend.

I cant believe this. Jeff has more wins and even if he gets more championships and a higher career stat, they will say Sr is better. Even if he passes all of Petty's stat, they will say Jeff is not a legend. To all the haters, Wake up!!! Try watching the race once and awhile, read the standings and stats. Jeff Gordon is a living legend and I agree. Those that dont only lie to themselves.

He will never be a Dale Sr., or a Richard Petty, or a Davey Allison, or an Allan Kulwicki. but he is ok as far as drivers go in todays world.

I still think he's a legend in his own mind. He is a great driver, and he may win another championship, but he hasn't won it yet. AND, I am still a loyal Jr. fan...

GO JR.>>>>>

Yes... & I'm not a big supporter of Jeff's... (I'm a Carl Edwards fan!)
However, I think Jeff will be a legend just like Earnhart Sr... I mean, think about it... 4 championships already! & Put him in any vehichle & he does VERY well!!!
Now, put him in a FORD... & he might have more fans... INCLUDING ME!! ... but I wouldn't give up on Carl... just love that smile & those back flips! :) :)
