Most of your answers are based on the assumption that "God" is dictating this practice.
For some, organized religion, born again Christianity is their joy. They are content. Most however are still searching.
Truly enlightened beings are content.
Physicists and cosmic scholars are increasingly recognizing a divine presence as did Newton etc.
The disparity is in direction. Looking inward rather than to the "heavens". The subatomic realm is the heavens.
We are God. That little nagging voice saying get off the computer and play with your kids - not some bearded white robed, gray haired dude in sandals sitting on a cloud sounding like James Earl Jones.

Why do people have to be taught religion by other people instead of directly through God?
Why does God need middle men to spread his ideas?
These are good Questions BUT the answer is straight forward. READ the Bible yourself and DO and KEEP the things that Jesus the Christ did and taught. Also follow the Apostles teachings also.
Most people have their minds polluted from the teachings of men and religions that are not from the Bible.
The needing help is if the person you are talking and listening to is teaching and quoting direct from the Bible and you read it and see it yourself then follow it. Otherwise if it is not from the bible or they say it is a mystery, think about following that person.
A person that is a true "Christian," one following Jesus' teaching, will tell you the truth.
Jesus is the author and Lord God of Scriptures (Old Testaments) and New Testament.

A lot of people do not know when God is speaking to them to teach them something so therefore, God uses other people to deliver His message to them. It takes a refined relationship with God to be able to hear from Him directly and know it is directly from Him. There are so many who scoff at the idea that God speaks directly to people that it is almost always necessary to have those middle men or women to whom God sends messages to others. It is through witnessing His guidance first hand that we are able to share that experience with others. His power is certainly great enough to 'spread His ideas' without using a middle man, but we as intelligent beings think we know so much more. But it is by grace we are saved, not by works, lest any man should boast.

Because the god that teaches religion is a religious spirit that uses other people, so that he may use more.
The children of God are taught and/or guided into all truth directly by God's spirit; the Spirit of Truth. The voice of the spirit speaks to your own heart in response to nature, the thoughts and expressions of others, or through the Bible. It will always agree with the Bible at all times.
If you have the Holy Spirit; that Spirit of Truth, which is your tongue of the pillar of fire Christ Jesus, you have direct fellowship and access to all truth by his voice.
The teaching that God needs middlemen is demonic. It teachers people that compliance before men is humility before God.
What most religious people do and experience is someone quoting or repeating religious teachings; without speaking for God. This produces people who are adherents. They answer to the voice of their teachers and have not learned the voice of God.
Do not follow after such teachers or be like their followers.

One of the best questions I've read on here. It's like the 'can you still be saved if you grow up isolated from the world' bit, while questioning everything God expects from us, and making it more clear we're just animals passing this down ourselves. We create God, God doesn't come to us. All religions are basically the same if they all have to be passed down by humans and not the god himself. I'll add this to the things to debate with a pastor about.

It is certainly possible to obtain "union with God" by oneself, without the need for a middleman"; it is only wicked priesthood that insist that it is otherwise. However, you must be firm and dedicated in your practices; it doesn't "just happen" unless you are very fortunate. Sometimes, God comes of His/Her own accord, and can also show up in the guise of Deities from other religions. This happened to me; I never thought I, a Westerner, would be worshipping Shiva, Kali, and Ganesha, but I am, because They came to me and indicated that I should do so. It has something to do with past lives, apparently.

Why create human beings in the first place if we serve no useful purpose? All good managers delegate authority.
According to the Bible, whenever God boomed out of the sky at the Israelites, they were intimidated. Apparently God is not that warm and fuzzy; the Bible implies that people were terrified when approached by a mere angel, let alone God. It is a little more personal, and less intimidating, when a human being shares God's message with you.

God has always used His servants here on earth to spread His Gospel. Amos 3:7 states that surely the Lord God will do nothing save He revealeth His secrets unto His servants, the prophets. That doesn't mean that we should be taught by men. We are taught by God via revelation from God when His prophets speak to us and when we pray about it to receive direct, personal revelation from God confirming that what we heard was true. James 1:5 states if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not. So we should be taught by God directly through answer to our prayers and indirectly by listening to the prophets that receive their teachings from God.
Now the trick is for you to identify who are the prophets of God on the earth today.
I testify that they are located in Salt Lake City, having the delegated authority from God to do His work here on the earth. That authority is further delegated to other servants throughout the world to teach, preach, baptize, and confirm with the Holy Ghost, all who are humble, penitent, faithful and sincere in their belief and obedience of Christ.
Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you and ask and it shall be given.

People do not have to be taught by other people. I have delt with missionaries who years ago went into areas where religion was never taught to anyone until they got there. They experienced people who worshiped God, but had never heard of Jesus Christ. They found groups who had set down tribal laws, very much like the Ten Commandments and they had never read a Bible. When these people came to know "our version" of Christianity, they realized, they already had it, they just did not know what to call it. God works in mysterious ways, His glories to perform.
